Thanks for all the suggestions! i really like the looks of that Cooper rifle, it is another one of those names I don't hear about very often.
I will spend the next couple days looking in to every rifle mentioned!
The Coopers are gorgeous riflesThe big price tag and long wait times to get your cooper are probably why you dont hear about them so much. They are only a couple hundred $$ more than a sako 85 but IMHO a way better buy. I beleive that prophet river has a .270 in stock so you don't even have to wait for it.

Personally I would go with a Remington 700 CDL. They are a good looking rifle.

--- X 2 Ted, --- have a 270 Husqvarna Crown Grade, a /59 vintage that I bought new then, still drives tacks, they made a Very Great RifleI have owned at least a dozen Husqvarna rifles in 270 over the past forty years, and cannot remember one that would not shoot less than one-inch groups. They are great rifles!

I bought a Tikka T3 lite in .270 win last year and I love it! It's a great rifle with a smooth tight action, crisp trigger and a DBM.
