Damn, these posts make me sad. I'd save every CA I could if I had the cash.

It's probably worth more ruined than it is live.

Oh, I'm well aware of that. But who knows what the future holds? Once they're deactivated, they're gone.

Regardless, I hate to see them deactivated, but it comes down to money. If I had to, I'd give mine to someone who wouldn't deactivate them, rather than chop and sell.

Amen to that!

Stevo:

That was the point of C68 all along... Kill off all the auto's and converted's, or simply take them away...

It was C17 that did the CA's in, not C68. C10(?) was round one, C17 round two, and C68 was round 3.

Edit: Sorry to hijack your thread, Superbee. I could give you $1k for it as that's all I can afford, but it's worth a lot more than that. Hopefully you can find someone who'll take it live.

Part it out. I'm sure someone could make a semi-auto receiver for it, and it will live on.

Atleast see if the gun can go with this route, if it costs more $$ it's worth it. The whole kit together is big bucks. Marstar was listing the price for a semi @ $4000. So go from there if you convert. a CA is worth much less due to the smaller # of people who can own one and the PITA factor from our governments.

We should start a charity: Save the Full Autos . SFA for short. For only the cost of a cup of coffee you can save a machine gun. Thousand of guns are going un-fed in this country, by sponsering these guns you can prevent this. You will be sent a photo of the specific gun your saving, as well as receive regular film of it being fired. Once anually you will be invited to shoot your sponsered gun along with hundreds of others as a special thank you...

I would suggest cutting the receiver, and see if you can import a TNW semi auto kit? Or see if marstar can help you out on getting the semi auto mods imported from TNW, because that's who makes their semi mg34's?

I'm not sure if you would be given a new FRT for assembling one on a TNW receiver, or if it would be the same as the non-restricted ones available? That would make selling it significantly easier with the general gun community able to buy it!

Or even sell it as a parts kit as suggested, people would snatch it up in a heart beat like every other parts kit that comes available on EE... (wish i had some extra change lying around...).

edit: Or see if you could import an XMG receiver/kit for the mg34 parts. Coolest AR-upper :D. http://www.brp guns.com/xmg.htm

I don't know if you'd actually be able to import the xmg kit, but we can dream!

He wants to sell it, not completely destroy it.

The buying market for CA's is a lot smaller than if it were made a semi, or parted out.

but this is dependent on the legalities of parting it out. I was told CA parts cannot be used in a semi auto, is this correct?

edit: Is it possible to remove and strip your CA receiver + the CA modified internals and sell that as is? I think johnone says they sell spare parts to owners of the prohibited guns (?). Then sell the rest of the parts as a parts kit ?

I would like to see the matching numbers remain that way, maybe you should take Klunk's offer?

Have you tried the international market? I'd pay $4k for it if I had the money at the moment. Guns like this don't show up very often at all!
