use #2 or heavier. Some coons are HUGE!!, takes a good size pellet to kill em FAST. Shot a few with turkey shot, they didnt go far after that, but takes another one to put the lights out
What shot size do you guys recommend for coons? they're getting into the corn, and my grandmothers flowers. I'm thinking 4 or 5 out of my 12 gauge. what are your thoughts?
Remember to wear rubber gloves when handling dead coon carcasses....possible rabies, nasty stuff.

Just remember coons in Ontario are classed as a furbearer, and have a specific season from october to January. You may want to check the hunting regs.

Check under the Protection of Property section of the Ontario Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act.
