Anyone have any suggestions for my Norinco CQ556? I want to get rid of the carry handle and put on a flattop riser and a flip up rear sight.

ANyone know where I can look to get these items at a reasonable price? Questar seems to be sold out.

X2 for fabsports they got tons of riser options in stock, for the rear flip sight I highly recommend Midwest Industries... I bought my flip sights from Brownell's, and saved over 50 bucks on the rear sight vs buying from Questar.... Good Luck

I find that difficult to understand. Brownells lists the Midwest Industries MCTAR-ERS rear flip-up sight for $105.99 in US dollars. That's @ $127.00 in Canadian dollars and does not include any other charges or costs. Our listed price is $159.99 ($32 more) and that covers our export costs and overheads. It also gives the buyer some degree of "support" if there's a problem with the item.

Yes we charge more than the US pricing... but in fairness it's @ $30 more not $50. No need to exaggerate is there?

No exaggeration at all Mark, I bought the front sight from you and was charged 19 bucks to ship, soooo 19 shipping, 159 for the sight, ~ 8 for GST... Thats 186 Mark.... I paid 129.70 and it showed up no problems, no exaggeration here Mark i got no reason to lie about a stupid flip sight, I'm just sharing my experiences....

So you're including taxes and shipping and everything... you do realize that no Canadian dealer can compete with US vendors, US Postal Service rates, etc.? I've asked Canada Post to give us similar rates to what we get in the US... they laugh at us. In the US I can buy "Flat Rate" boxes from USPS and ship anywhere in the US for one flat rate no matter how heavy the box is... you can't do that here.

If this is the standard that you are holding us to then I give up... you win.

Mark, I don't think anyone here is accusing you of price gouging. US dealers are able to undercut your pricing for the reasons you cited and that is no one's fault, it's just the way things are. Frankly I'd rather buy in Canada even if it is more expensive because I seem to be on some sort of watch list where every goddamn parcel I get out of the US arrives two weeks late with CBSA tape all over it.

What ru talking about I just compared pricing from an all included cost stand point, I didn't slag your company I just shared an experience, The sight was cheaper overall from Brownell's by over 50 bucks... I meant no disrespect, I was just letting the OP know where he could get these sights for a good price.... The only reason your name came up is beacuse I bought the front one from you, so I felt it to be a fair comprision...

Questar Are you a Venture one card holder?

Beyond Venture 1... we have a contract with Canada Post... but they still don't come anywhere near what US rates are. In Canada we have to supply our own shipping boxes... in the US the USPS supplies the Flat Rate box for nothing... and the flat rate is a fraction of what Canadian parcels are.

Canada Post charges $2.50 right off the top for "Signature" and another $1 per $100 for insurance. They then tack onto everything their "Fuel Surcharge"... and on and on.

Of course they're no worse than UPS or other carriers in Canada... most of whom won't even talk to us the minute we ask them to transport firearms.

I guess I'm just being "too sensitive" today... must be time for a vacation :)

Well I purchased a AR15 from Questar on Friday morning on line at about 10.30 am it was transfered and shipped out the same day, I received my new AR and extras the following Monday by 1.30pm, I have not received service this good ever and will be buying everything I can from Mark and Sal no matter what the cost is.

You can't beat service like that.:)

Mark has supplied me with most of my guns and I'm quite happy with all of them. Best of all, he has quickly resolved any problems that I've encountered.
