Has any one seen the wolf taken in the Edson-Drayton valley area?I just seen the one pic on the Alberta outdoorsman web site the are saying it goes over the 200# mark.That is one big dog.They were saying it could be a new record.

If my dog was that big I'm pretty sure she would train me to retrieve the ducks.

Someone had a giggle making that pic.
 
Republic do know where it was shot?I heard it was shot in the edson area but the post said drayton valley.just curious I did some hunting in the drayton area.A friend of mine was helping the U of A with a cougar study and the guy from the U of A was saying there was real wolf problem in the grand cache area .they were going to try to make the alpha pair sterile to see if they get ran off or the keep there area.
 
They can get pretty big. The biggest one we shot during a hunt in the Alberta foothills back in 2005 weighed in at 140 lbs. A 200 pound wolf would be an exceptional specimen.

(Ours were the ones in the picture with three wolves and three coyotes)

Same exact thoughts that I had. Look at the wolf's head closely... it almost looks photo shopped in a way. It just doesn't look right, almost blurry. Hard to explain but it looks a bit odd.
 
This came up on the Alaskan trappers website and was pretty muched laughed at.

These are seasoned trappers who have caught wolves (some of them for 50 years)......... I will go with them and say BS.


Plus if he shot it, why is there a snare around its neck?
