i love the galil stock... too much for me on the recession budget unfortunately

i've never fired one with the factory folder, but it sure looks like it would be harsh on the face, particularily the cheekbone.
and yeah that galil type is the best looking stock option for these 858's, if i hadn't spent so much on my setup i definately would have gone that route.
Yep Galil stocks are sweet and I still have a couple left.
Is the LOP on the Galil stock the same as the factory folder? It looks longer.
LOP is a comfortable 14.25"
So, you're going to make me go measure the factory folder to compare? Damn, I wanted you to do the work.
I don't have any factory folders here (real men don't use them ) but compared to the factory fixed butstock the Galil one is 1.5" longer.
I think the galil stock has the best folding mech I've ever seen. It is brutally simple with one moving part, locks closed/open and it designed to continue to lock firmly after significant wear. Just a very solid functional design. The stock itself has a steel frame and is overmolded with fiber reinforced polymer for both strength and comfort. Its topped off with a handy buttpad that absorbs recoil. Other features are that the stock is inline with the barrel for increased muzzle control and comfort when using optics and finally in addition to folding it comes with a single point sling loop. Generally speaking every shot fired when using this stock showers the operator with sweet sweet commie love .

yes, top and lower HG and grip are all FAB .
aimpoint micro T-1 on a scout mount .
i can vouch for that . the way it was designed it wont wobble even from excessive use .

Not tacticool, but the latest incarnation. The pics don't do the color or the wood grain justice. It is really a darker red, not as bright as in the pic. Still putting on the boiled linseed, coat number 9 tonight. Awaiting the muzzle brake, and mag release. I still need to trim off the rail to have easy access to under the hand guard for cleaning.

I'm guessing Minwax Sedona Red, the Garand stock I refinished in it turned out the same way, really bright in pictures but much darker in real life.

The stain is Cabernet by Varathane. The light birch took the stain surprisingly well, and it shows the grain better than the original blonde stain in my opinion.
I like the fab accessories but they are bit pricey for my budget right now...one little piece at a time is probably the best way to go...I should probably duracoat it first anyways...the blue finish and the black accessories will clash methinks

I've got 1000 rounds of norco 7.62x39 thats been sitting for like 6 years, all i've needed was an excuse to burn it up... you guys just gave me one. I so want a non restrict 858 now.
just glad i didnt get that mini-30 or sks years ago. im definetly getting this rifle, and anger the heck outa the Fudds when i go hunting with them next time
