My shotgun is simple. Everything on there has a purpose.
Simple and purposeful are two different words with different meanings. Again, out of polite curiosity, I would appreciate a short explanation of what you would consider tacticool, given that a shellholding sling, rail mounts, flashlights (bayonets maybe) and a side saddle shell holder are considered simple.
Or are you just abusing the english language?
Still, I love the 590A1 and I love the setup except for the sling. No wobbly shellholder sling for me, as it affects the balance of the gun if left dangling. The purpose of the sidesaddle is to remove the need for additional shells with quick access and would not so much considerable weight tothe shotgun.
Go with a bandoleer, belt, or pouch for additional rounds.
KISS?
I see no Gene Simmons here... not even a lowly Peter #####. Very disappointed in the direction of this thread and the over loaded non-k.i.s.s. sling in the 1st post.
...very disappointed indeed.
Wow.
Heat shield, so I don't burn myself when I shot it red hot. (I use my tools, and a lot at that.)
Impressive... really though? You can get it "red hot"?
I've done it before with belt-fed MG's... but you gotta be doing some serious rocking and rolling to get a pump SG barrel red.... big ups too you!

With my finger, on or off.
m9 looks better
here's mine
sorry for the target loads. didnt have any 00 buck and slugs to ride the side saddle

Those slings suck. They're difficult to load from as they swing about. The shell loops aren't strong enough to keep shells from falling out, they throw off balance when swinging the shotgun and they're annoying when the shotgun is slung. With the shells at the rear of the sling your only option is muzzle up strong side which presents two problems. The reach through technique for bringing the shotgun to bear is complicated when compared to the roll under technique used on the support side with the muzzle down. It also becomes problematic with heavy or loose fitting clothes. The second issue is that strong side carry will deny you access to your pistol(provided you're carrying one).
Side saddle, light, tritium bead, and a simple sling.

Cobalt - Did you have to get you beyonet lug grounded off on your 590?
No. But I did grind off a small portion of the end of the light so it wouldn't knock into the lug.
Well I have a Hatsen Aim Guard mariner and sadly no side saddle available that I know of. So bandalier it is then.
