Noric M14 Weight Without Stock

My 18 3/4" shorty M14 action only weighs in at pretty close to 6 lbs.
My Norc mystery wood stock weighs in at 1 lb 12 ozs WITHOUT buttpad, but WITH metal stock liner. Which gives a weight of 7 lbs 12 oz for the complete SHORTY, no buttpad.
My GI fiberglass stock, with a short alloy rail at the front, weighs in at 2 lbs 8 oz.
My chopped GI fiberglass stock with Butler Creek side folder weighs 3 lbs,
total weight with shorty is 9 lbs.
My AKM chopmod with a shorty action in it weighs 10 lbs 4 oz,
11 lbs with a scope mounted.
AND,
to keep things in perspective,
my tricked out fluted HBAR 16" AR 15 weighs 8 lbs 10 oz with a 3200 10X tactical scope mounted.
Just for those who flunked math,
by my scale,
my shorty M14 with side folder, no scope, is 6 oz heavier than my AR 15 with scope.
The weight of the rifles is not so bad ...
it is the 200 Rds battle pack of 7.62 NATO ammo that you notice when humping.
