Teflon lubricant

I have some of this lubricant in the garage, and I used it to spray the action on a gun... I also used some gun oil on the moving parts. Anyone forsee any problems with the use of this teflon lubricant.

im not to sure in ur case. up to about maby 5 years ago in the military the CLP (gun oil) they issued was a teflon based oil. They found out it was cancerous and got rid of it. When you have it in a clear bottle it would make a layer if white on the bottom (teflon) after sitting for a day or 2. you would half to shake the bottle b4 use.

You have to shake all of the multi component lubricants, and the military is still using CLP (break free). Having to shake is not a negative unless you fail to do so; then half way through the can the component ratios will be out.

A number of lubes out there have teflon in them, Remoil for example, and they work just fine. I used to use a number of different ones, and they all did a good job in lubrication, not necessarily in protection though. Personally I prefer the moly sprays now.

I have around a half a litre of break free, I have never heard of it causing cancer, and I agree with the above , it is still used by the military. Besides , if we listened to everything they say about what causes cancer, or what is good or bad for us etc... we'd all be sitting naked in a field ,afraid to move waiting for death ....i'll take my chances :) Break free works great , as far as i'm concerned :)
 
Gloves will solve that

I wear Nytril gloves when I handle these products. OK I get them free but still I would anyway. Solves the problem before there is one, and Ms. Nic is happy my hands don't smell gun oil :)
 
yup forgot to mention the gloves , and also , you don't need very much of it to do the job , I've found just a drop or 2 and wiped all around worked just fine. I have a tiny squirt bottle that has just a tiny hole in the top, dispenses one drop at a time , just apply where needed , and don't over do it . works great on all my firearms.
