Ya, if speed isn't an issue then loose is definitely more economical. I just like the extra fps that Pyro pellets offer.

How would pellets give you more fps than loose given the same charge equivalent? :confused:

3 50gr pellets should give you the same speed as 150gr Pyro loose or 128gr 777 loose. YES/NO ?

I'm only talking Pyro pellets here and not T7. Pyro pellets are a true 50 grains by volume but T7 are not; but getting back to your question, pellets, by design (the hole up the centre), burn more quickly and efficiently than loose powder. I've tested this dozens of times over the chrony and Pyro pellets on average give about 150fps more velocity than an identical 150 grain load of loose Pyro, at least in 26-28 inch barrels.
 
i have used all 3 (pyrodex,T7, and american pioneer/jim shockey gold)

I don't like the pyrodex , only because it is nasty at cleanup imho, T7 cleans up a bit easier with less mess, I tried the Jim Schockey, and it worked just fine for me and found it to have the least residue of all.. I've been using the federal and remington 209 primers and no troubles really with any of them. It's really a matter of what you prefer. In fact I still have 2 boxes of T7 if anyone wants it they can have it . I'm sticking with the american pioneer stuff, same as JS gold without the extra cost to have his name on it :)
