Anyone know if this company has canadian dealers?? Their AR's are sick

I will preface this with my standard disclaimer that I am not an AR guy, so I can't offer personal experiences with the Olympic.

However, I have a lot of friends who would punch me in the face if I bought an Olympic.

To be fair they are mostly Americans and can buy pretty well whatever AR they want. But Olympic has a very bad reputation, along with DPMS, these days. I do not have the technical knowledge to assess the accuracy of the reputation so I am only commenting on what the "buzz" is.

There are numerous better alternatives than an Oly...LMT, STAG, Rock River Arms, S&W, Noveske, Armalite, Bushmaster/Remington...any offer better value than the Oly.

Do you reload? If not, check the price of factory .45ACP these days! If you want an AR that shoots a pistol caliber, go with the 9mm. Keeping my .45s feed, even with casting my own bullets and reloading is damn near bankrupting me!:D

Consider the RRA 9mm AR carbine. Much cheaper to feed and a much better product than the Oly! You might check the EE as well as - every now and then an actual Colt 9mm comes up for sale...sometimes at quite reasonable prices too!

Now, when we say 'OA licks balls', lets give examples as to why.
experience

Exactly!

I have herd many things about various AR's on this forum, and so many others.
But from my experience most problems that I have seen have to with the individual operating the rifle. Either he never cleaned it properly or simply was an idiot, and did not not know the limitation of the rifle.

What will I be looking at in the range difference of these calibers though? won't I be losing a ton of punch?
I dont want to lose 45 yards moving down to 9mm tho

the dealer in my town has a nice looking 9mm bushmaster

I had a few Olypmic Arms over the years. My first AR15 was an Olympic Arms SGW. As a standard HBAR 20" A1 it was fine, but prone to problems including the odd "burp" .. meaning it would sometimes burst.

There are better companies that make better AR15's ...

Some of you guys sound like your lives depend on AR dependability. Are you guys in a warzone? You can't hunt with it!!

I saw a $4000 shorty LMT f*ck up after like 200 rounds...what a peice of ####.

where did you get it?

Scored mine from the EE. Sweet deal :dancingbanana: .

Mine had a problem when I got her. It used to double off real bad. Replaced the FCG....cheap and easy, but didn't fix it :( . Swapped in a heavier buffer......hey, problem solved! :) .
Was it a POS 'cause of the doubling? No. It just needed a different part to work properly.

(E)
