Went gopher shooting with my son today. I took the outlaw along. Shot some 3" #2s, what a muzzel blast. Did not have my muffs along-big mistake. Only shot a few times, sure kills gophers:). shot a few hundred rounds from the 10-22 & the yellowjacket 597. Cotton batting ear plugs ok for 22. Had fun.
 
I too have ended up in the bush with no plugs and a million rounds to blast.. Next time just cut a bit of clothing off, wet it, and stuff it in your ears. Works great! I shop for my bush clothes at value village so which ever piece is tight knit and cost less will work.;)

hahaha, glad im not the only one to try that..... Umm, you should probably use fresh ones and just "enjoy the pure tobacco burn"
 
Do you use the filters just to keep the blood in so you don't bleed to death in the bush? Cause those outlaws are damn loud, even louder when you stand beside one and the a$$ firing it doesn't say anything and you don't have your hearing protection on.
