I recieved a phone call from Cabellas yesterday to tell me that they had received a shipment of sks45 and did I want these instead of the two I ordered last May (2008). The price for the current ones is listed at $259.99 but they offered $60 off each since I ordered at $169.99. The final total price coming out to $199.99 each.
I assured them that if their description was accurate that I did still want to fill my order and managed to get down there yesterday evening. They had already picked out two so there was no choosing but I am very happy with what I got. Two refurb but since unused, Tula, SKS45 circa 1955 from all indications, repaired (nicely) birch stocks, they appear to have new chrome barrels (clean sharp throats. no visible wear) with the accessory tools, 3 metal strippers, oil bottle, belt holders for all, with sling. Cabellas even threw in two rifle cases for free.
I was order number 623 and 624 last year and from what I understand these are from the second shipment of just over two hundred (around 430 total) so I assume many have cancelled their order. The sales folks tell me all are about the same condition from this shipment, if that's the case, those that cancelled are missing out.

Yes, 199.99 plus tax if you ordered in the original bunch. These two are almost too nice to bubba the way I originally intended. The last sks I owed were 5 norincos in a family pack from lever for $500 (iirc), before that a type 56 with a laminated stock, these may be the nicest yet.

did you say a type 56 with lam stock? an egyptian model perhaps ?

i got mine from SIR also for $199.99 and if you think these from SIR are the nicest yet then you havent seen nothing yet , the first shipment of IZH will floor you .
 
Cabela's just phoned me today. I don't need another SKS but what the hell they phoned after all this time and the price is OK so I'll take it. My other Ruski looks almost too nice to shoot, it's all matching but the mag and no refurb marks + chrome bolt, looks unfired at all. I'll post a pic when it shows up.
 
Nothing Showing On Website

I never ordered one before but I am looking for one now. I just checked the website and I can't find any on there. Does anyone know if they are going to offer these to the public again?
