BSA Rifle Scopes?

They seem more tacticool than functional. I saw one at P&D (before swearing them off). A helical lense cap? That the most gimmicky thing I've seen in quite some time. :rolleyes:

What caliber of rifle do you want to use this bsa on? I think they are an average scope for a rimfire or other light recoiling rifle. They aren't any better than any other $200.00 or less scope. They do have some new models with Tacicool look, and if that works for you, you should buy one. FS
 
I have a 3-9 x 40 on a ruger 10/22. The glass isn't top notch in it, but you can ring an 8" gong at 200 yards with it all day, or get 1" groups inside 70 yards. It's all I would expect out of a $100 scope on a rimfire.
 
I have a 6-24x40 mil dot on a 223. Its not bad, and I haven't done any tracking tests on it yet. The glass is not very good thougt. It gets pretty dark nearing full power
 
I have a sweet 223, BDC turrets didn't work for me. I would rate it better then a tasco about on par with a mid range bushnell. I got mine on sale for $100. I had a tasco varmint before, it broke after ~5years, on a rimfire.
 
I have a Stevens 22-250 in need of glass, I'm tired of buying Bushnell glass want something different.

I do have a Tasco 4-16 world class .22 on a .204, no issues for the last 4 years or so...

Hard to judge quality, it depends on the viewer I guess...

Try a Falcon, It seemed well built, not quite as nice as my Bush 6500 though.
 
I am considering a falcon as well heard nothing but good so far about them, I'd like to look through one though before committing 500 bucks...

Same here, I received one on a package deal, however the deal with the wife was for a rifle only and since I already had a Bushnell 6500 I didn't push the issue. If things were different I would have definitely kept the Falcon. It is a bit heavy though (built beefy I suppose).

However it is no BSA, Different price points for sure.
 
I had a BSA panther 6.5-20 I put on my Magnum Research .22, It was one super cool looking piece of glass. Suited the gun to perfection. I had it for 3 shots before a lens came loose inside. When I returned it the guy said... "yep most of these have come back". I hope it was just a bad run because the optics were nice and clear, looked great, and the price was nice. All the same I spent the extra money and purchased my 3rd burris scope... Yet if you hold the $600 Burris next to the $200 BSA its a crap shoot on who gets the clarity belt. Hope this helps.
 
I have owned 2 They worked fine for the price,If you can afford more buy better,if you cant they will work for you until you can get better if you think you need better.
