P30 painful to shoot

I love my P30L but I want to sell it for a .45 ACP, but I can't find Hk45 with LEM though.

Probably a kit will be made for it (LEM)....
I am hoping for a P30-L S kit to install in my P30-L. Basically,...a P30-L in DA/SA with a manual ambi safety. :p

Apparently Hk told HK USA rep that the frame is different on the S model,....so no kit may be available. I call BS on that,..HK used the P30 and with a slightly longer slide and dustcover,..the P30-L was born (although it does not sayP30- L on the grip, it says P30).

I think it is akin to what I was told about the HK USP variant change. I went from the V1 USP...to a variant 9,..and then 7,...or something like that. The only difference was a detent plate. I was told I needed new decock/safety levers....:rolleyes:have a few brand new levers that were not needed in my parts bin at home. The painted on S and F is missing on the decock only model. ( if I remember correctly.)

I changed my first USP to an LEM back in 2005 I believe...I liked it. the lever was removed completely which was cool. I always thought the lever was in the wrong place unless you just used it as a safety only.(with the change of a detent plate it became a safety lever only-no decock function) I went so far as to change the lever to the other side of the gun,...as I thought it was in my way; I could not keep my thumbs high on the frame in the IPSC thumbs forward grip.

Some people like a consistent trigger pull fromt shot to shot. The DA/SA trigger is why I got rid of my 226....

So youd rather have a long crappy trigger everytime than just the first shot?

#### the hammer before the first shot then, to each his own but I still dont get it. I thought the LEM was for carrying/officer with itchy trigger finger safety.

The V1 version of LEM feels like a single action with a bit more takeup. It has a longer trigger reset, kind of like a browning hipower.

I'm a cocked and locked SA fan and the LEM feels virtually like SA to me.

Come on, you fired both versions of triggers on the HK P30L and you find them virtually the same?

FYI,..my LEM trigger was under 6lbs. I have seen or heard of shooters who claim 3.5lbs. You are not pressing against the weight of the hammer spring,..as it is already pre-cocked. I found my reset was very short in the LEM.
The trick is the FPB spring,...get the lightest,...and get a lighter trigger return spring (LEM trigger return spring is heavy,..I left in the regular return spring),...that with the hammer spring from a Match trigger kit (it is softer,...regardless of watch the Canadian distributer says).
Polishing of the FPB could help. the stainless (chrome look) flat spring is better than the blued ones....(argh,..blued ones can create that grit feeling in the DA/SA)

Reset in the LEM is longer, the standard DA/SA trigger will allow quicker subsequent shots.
The initial takeup in the V1 LEM is almost nonexistent in terms of weight. The V2 sold in the USA is the one that has about an 8lb trigger with strong resistance to the initial takeup. With my V1 LEM P2000 that take up disappears very quickly and I find myself at the link with a 5 lb or so trigger pull.

Similar feeling trigger would be the light DA pull on a AS P99. However the P99 trigger 'locks' into SA mode past a certain point in the trigger movement whereas the LEM trigger will move forward if you release pressure on it.

I haven't timed myself on rapid fire with the LEM vs. a short reset trigger gun (standard DA/SA, cocked and locked or Walther P99 AS). However it's fast enough for double taps and rapid fire...just like shooting a long reset trigger gun like Browning hipower.

I prefer the LEM as it's the same trigger pull (light 5lbs) vs. the DA/SA heavy first shot / light SA pulls after. Like I said before I'm an old Cocked and Locked fan so I like consistent light pulls.

If they had made the P2000 available with the cocked and locked safety of the USP compact or HK45 then I would be in absolute heaven...I also like safety for retention purposes!!
