Hey all,

I know that when I buy a restricted gun in-person I have to wait for a temporary att to come through in order to take it home. But if I buy a gun and have it shipped to me, do I still have to wait for some kind of permission from the CFO or can the store put it in a box and put it in the mail as soon as I pay them?
 
You don't need a temp ATT, but you do need to wait for the transfer to go through; turnaround time will vary by province.

When you pay them, the store calls in the transfer to the CFC, which hands it over to the CFO, which then sends the proper paperwork to the store once the transfer is approved. Then they can mail it to you.
 
If you are buying from a store they will get all your info and phone it in to cfc.Once its been approved they will ship it to you.
 
Thanks guys. I know that in Ontario most people tell me it takes about 5 days until they get to take there gun home. And I assumed that was while waiting for the att. But getting it transfered into my name seems to be an issue as well. In Ontario, how long does that usually take (on average)?
