anyone got first hand exp on these? been looking at them and they got some SWEET stock fetures from compensators,7+1 rounds heatsink and a rail standard! folding rear stocks with intergral shellholder .

how are they functionaly? what action they copying?

The tomohawk models are a Kral shotgun which have good standards, for the money its a buy. Check on parts, some over seas might take a while to ship... i just picked up the semi auto (pending order, will let you know how it is in a week or so) and from what iv read they seem to be a respectible firearm, tho there is limited info on them.

I've been chomping at the bit to buy one of these too.

There was a good article online from a US reviewer who said it was very robust and reliable (the semi).

I may have to just buy one and see how it works out.

Damn they've got all the good stuff on them too.

Anyone got the semi and put a couple thou downrange? (not that I'd ever put that many down the pipe on a personal shotgun)

I've got the 2800 tac pump... suits me just fine.. maybe 5 boxes through it... no issues.. I like it! However, if you want it for something to be used for more than a cool looking toy, you should probably spend more money and buy something better.

CMON GUYS;
The article you refer to was over a year ago regarding the Tomahawk 1200

At least wait until you see the new models on the site to offer opinions....

HOW HAVE you arrived at these opinions, we have not RELEASED A SINGLE ONE AS YET ??

The Model in question has been up graded and replaced....

I am always amazed at the knowledge available on this site even BEFORE we publish it....

Well in defense, i voted "need more info" , despite what i have previously read about them (which wasn't good at all), I'd still very much like to get one of these newer ones, if they are indeed of the quality you say :)!

John, I think a lot of people have a sour taste in their mouths because of the initially released product. I know I do.

I voted no, because I received one of the earlier tomahawk pump actions, and it was garbage.

I realize that the quality of the product isn't controlled by you, so I don't fault you on that.

However, I didn't have a great experience returning it either. To add to that, as soon as I posted on here about my issues, and you found out about it, and got involved, the whole situation got handled well, and quickly. For that, I thank you.

To the OP: as far as KRAL goes, if I was still in the market for one, I would not purchase one until many other people took the plunge, and reported back with excellent results, after many rounds fired.

If however you are ok with buying a new, untested firearm, from a MFG who's past products have left a LOT to be desired, then go for it. If you run into problems, talk with John, as I said before, when he got involved, problems got solved for me, so I would assume the same for you.

OK LETS CLEAR UP A FEW THINGS....

Yes Our first generation, and a few of the second gen, of Turkish guns were made by KRAL....

Yes we had a few quality control issues on a couple of versions we carried....

Our manager spent some time over there at the factory, things improved but still not to our satisfaction....

Last year we worked out a deal with M&U manufacturing to make our guns. The owner used to be the general manager at KRAL.

The quality has increased tremendously....

Of course our warranty applies as with all products we offer....

Please see my posting.... We are comparing apples with oranges here....

And as you say Marstar's warranty came to your rescue, as we always do for our clients....

Oh man that's just gross. :puke:
There are no excuses for that to have left the factory in anything other then a recycling bin.

not a chance...I wouldn't take a free one

Bingo! No thanks I'll pass as well.

I do not know much about these shot guns but you get what your willing to pay for. Go chinese get a hit or miss go american better odds at a better hit then miss. IMO :shotgun:

I have a Hatsan and love it. No jams yet after 50 plus shells of cheapy shot from wally mart.

If you said 5,000 then I'd be impressed. Although it'll probably last at least that long.

John, maybe you should be checking this stuff out before releasing a product to the public? At least you followed up and made some changes though.

I wouldn't buy one, but that's more of a taste issue then anything.

I was unaware there is a new release. If I were in the market for a shortgun like this. I would entertain the idea, due to your track record with customers. Which is generally possitive. Some of you responces have been questionable, but, I'm a realist, there is far more to the deal than a forum and what was exposed to the public. I'm sure there were more satified customer than not
If the new release is of that much better quality, it may be worth a look, things can change.

would I buy one online, no. I would have to hold it in my hand for a thorough examination, before deciding on a purchase. It would, and will be a tough sell, those pictures(completly disregard the thread, it's useless private jabber) speak quite loud. Nobody can hide the absolute lack of quality in the "previous" generation, which ever it may be.

Ironclad warrenty or not, there is a strong possibility for a real PITA with one of these purchases. A risk, I'd have to really consider before adding a Tomahawk to my collection.

John, while nobody wants to dwell on less than stellar items, I can't recall hearing about any improved versions until this post. If you'd mentioned this in the past, I've missed it. Until this post, I've assumed all the reports represented current production guns.

I was toying with the idea of the semi-auto, but the capacity is a downer. If you were able to also import a mag extention so we could load the legal capacity of less than 6 rounds in the magazine, plus one in the chamber, I'd take a second look.

I haven't had the shotty long enough to get to 5,000 rounds. But I'm working on it.
