CIL Model 470

I had one of them for about 20 yrs, nice shooter. Taking the bolt out can be tricky. If I remember correctly with the mag and trigger group out and the rifle upside down you can use a very small slot screw driver to manipulate and remove the slide link pin allowing you to remove the bolt. Then you can remove the spring and guide from the bolt.

The big trick is getting it back together as the spring and the guide just sort of rest against the rear. You wil see an impression where the spring sits so you have to align it back in the same spot or you won't be able to get it to cooperate.

The rifle appears to never have been fired.

Take her out and you will see how accurate they are. They pretty much shoot anything you put through them. I should have kept mine. I sold it to some numpty who when moving laid it across the bottom of his trunk and then load a ton of heavy crap on top of it causing the receiver to crack and wondered why.

"...What Anschutz model is this?..." Supposedly a Model 184 with a nicer stock. There's next to no info about CIL imported rifles on-line.

Remove the stock and use "gun-scrubber" or brake-clean(er) aresol type cleaners. You could take it apart to the littlest bits and clean it all up with a tooth brush and regular solvent, and I do that too occasionally, but for the regular "every 500-1000rnd cleans" I use gunscrubber.

After it dries, oil all the exterior parts you can see (just a light coating) this is to maintain the exterior finish on the firearm. The best stuff for the "inside" where all the moving parts are is a dry lube ie: "Rem-Dri"

I use Rem-dri on all of my semi auto rimfires. IMHO dry lube is the way to go for semi auto anything, since I have started using it in my rimfires I seldom if ever have problem with extraction, loading or firing..

Cheers!

I just picked up a CIL(Anschutz) Model 470, semi auto .22LR. Anybody know if this rifle can be taken down?

Very easy to take down, just a little difficult lining up the recoil spring into the bolt when reassembling.

1. Remove the small set screw at the bottom of the receiver then remove the large notched srew.
2. Slowly, slightly twisting back and forth, pull the barrel and forearm away and out from the receiver.
3. Using your small finger push/hold the bolt back a little in the receiver and pull the charging handle out of the bolt. Slowly withdraw your finger and the bolt should follow, you might have to give it a little push on the rear end of it to get it all the way out.
4. Remove the small srew at the back of the trigger guard that goes into the stock. Then lightly tap the pin out that goes thru the lower middle of the receiver. You trigger guard/assembly will now lift right out of the receiver.

You can pm me if you need anymore info.

Thanks for all the information guys! The man I bought the rifle from said he could get a thousand bucks for it in Germany!!! I didn't pay near that figure.

range report

I ran some CIL ammo through the rifle with the help of my very excellent uncle Charlie Bayne. Charlie said from a rest the rifle would probably put them into one hole, or close to it, at 20 yards.
