Get what you like, what you like to shoot. Who care what others have or think is cool...if you can shoot it well.....its good.

I kinda buy against the trends... my hunting battery is a Marlin 1895XLR (I think a lot more people would keep their 45/70 Marlins if they bought this rather than the guide guns... especially the ported ones,) a Browning BLR in 300WSM, and I'm looking into building a Marlin 336XLR in 30-30 (maybe AI) with a 14ish inch barrel and lightening up the stock as much as possible. If I ever build a bolt rifle for hunting it will probably be in 7mm STW and as light as possible.

I like what I like. Some is older and some is newer. I have used quite a few cartridges, only 2 were new, the rest were created before I was born. I have specific things I like and don't like about different rifles, and therefore I buy only ones that meet (or come close to) my criteria.

I buy what I want. It's none of my business what you buy or what you want.

NAA.

I'd rather get a cheaper rifle and learn to use it well, and have spare money for ammo, than an expensive rifle I can't afford to shoot regularly.

I buy what I feel will work for me and couldn't care less what others think.

I am influenced by the performance levels of cartridges nothing more and I like Remington and Sako bolt rifles and Marlin levers the most.

Then they came out with stainless steel synthetic stocked firearms and then they added black/gray laminate stocks which was then the start of having to replace every older blued firearm I own...

I'm just finishing the deal on another 2 new Rem 700 LSS's in 30-06 and 300 RUM tomorrow and should have them both in 1 1/2 weeks tops.

and as long as Ruger doesn't come out with a 416 Ruger s/s black/gray laminate stocked rifle I am hopefully done buying rifles for now...

I have always liked weatherbys, so when I found a deal on one, I bought it. Then I decided I wanted it to shoot better, so I bought a barrel. Then I decided I wanted a stock that fit me properly, so I'm making one. I stopped caring what others thought in high school. That was 17 years ago.
