Vancourver Island Hunting

the bc hunting regs?... available on paper at wal mart and any gun / fishing store. they are online too if you search.

page 16 of the 2008-2009. I think the 2010 is out now. there is no calibers limits. there is rimfire vs center rules. IE bobcat, lynx, wolverine, coyote, small game, can be taken with rimfire, everything else is centerfire.

there is centerfire min size. for bison

Here is where you can find our regs online. They describe the general rules (ie rimfire vs centrefire, etc) but then for the specific areas you also need to look for no shooting areas, shot only areas, vehicle closures, etc.

Thats right, i did see the rimfire vs centerfire section... i just want to know the actual caliber limit's for different game,

may be in the CORE manual not sure..

i was just out there so much wildlife deer etc it is an amazing place

In my experience the only place I see deer are places where I can't hunt them lol.. when I'm out looking for deer they are nowhere to be seen.

bastards I saw 10 on my way home today and they are all gone come hunting season.

I hunt with .35 whelen mostly but also have a 30-06 as well.

true i was in sooke it was fairly populated area though but they were running all over the place big and healthy. i got bit with west cost fever a few years back living in vancouver, but victoria and its fantastic ratio of "does" to "bucks" if you know what i mean has me planning my return

Lots of Urban Deer AKA bird feeder pets.

Lots of closed/gated off areas due to development, and of course uptight logging companies.

The farther North you go on the Island the better IMHO.

No real need to use anything over .308 in these parts...the Deer are tiny.
