Glock 21SF Twins Let Down....

I'm with you. If I pay new prices I want new quality, whatever it is.

The finish on my 34 is fine and my friend was looking at them last week and handled quite a few and I never noticed any marks.

You polished the perfectly good finish from your barrels...and complain about Glock...and you don't know why you're getting flak.

OK seriously did you even read this whole thread.. What fackin concern is it to anyone if I polished my barrels, they look good to me and a few others if I'm not mistaken. I never complained about glock in general, I pointed out the unusually bad finish I got from glock. I am all for glock I own a few and will own more, I was just a little disappointed this time around. The purpose of this was to see if anyone else had this problem and to see if anyone had any quick fix it ideas....

So yeah I'm a little confused at the dips**t comments, as I have never been a loud mouth a**hole on this forum, and never will be... Your 2 cents worth are exactly that... If you have something constructive to add then please I'm all ears. Just don't insinuate that I'm bashing glock, cuz I'm not...

Holy hell, I cant believe how much #### you are getting on here. Its a legitimate gripe, you buy new and expect what you pay for.

I think you did a wicked job on them. They look sweet!
Makes me almost want a Glock.. almost.
 
HOW did you Polish it So nicely? can I ( a novice) do that at Home, you mentiones jewler rouge.. where can i buy some? canadian tire??? also I have a small dremel is there a tool i can get to get a buffing wheel?? grit? i should buy?

Oh Did you polish the slide release also :D, Oh they sell a extended mag release its VERY cheap from Glock. and I also don't see why anyone is flamming you. I am on this forum like a crack addict and you always have fair and clean responses, good for you! some people just like the Drama and want to flame up when there is or isn't a reson for it :D:D

Did you polish the inside of the barrels, too? Can you take a pic of the inside of the barrel, with the barrel removed from the gun? If you cold take one from the muzzle, and one from the chamber, that'd be something to see. I would assume you polished at least the feed ramp. I've been considering doing that, as mine don't like to feed swc bullets. Even if you didn't polish the inside, pics would still be nice, just to see how you blended from one surface to another. With the finish removed like that, do you need to keep the barrel oiled, or protected from rust in some manner?

Jewelers rouge can be bought at Canadian tire I'm sure, I bought mine from Gregg's Distributors. It comes in one big brick of hardened paste. We had an old worn out bench grinder lying around our shop so I tweaked it a little bit and bought a soft cloth buffing wheel, good to go! You just take the brick of JR and apply it to the spinning wheel then work the barrel over it, repeat, repeat, and repeat some more... Once you can see your face in it your done.

Using a dremel might be difficult, One, I don't know how big a buffing wheel you can put on it, the bigger the better. Two, trying to work both the barrel and the dremel at the same time is going to be hard. Having that stationary bench grinder to work against made it alot easier, as you do need to apply a bit of pressure against the barrel.

The chrome pin kits and extended mag release came from rockyourglock.com, they come in a matte finish. Since I already had the buffing wheel going it was a sinch to shine those up....

I think they look gorgeous. The slide finish issue would piss me off as well. You paid good money for new (unflawed) firearms, you should have received that. They make me want to take a trip back into Glock country ...

I did not polish the inside of the barrel, to tricky... I figured a couple hundred rounds down pipe will do all the "polishing" needed... I did however polish the feed ramp which IMO makes a difference. Before it was not smooth and kinda rough to the touch especially the edges, now it's super smooth to the touch and feels like glass.

As far as the contrast between the inside and outside of the crown, the polishing created a clean line on the inside, It looks great. I don't have pics now but I will try to post some later. JR seals the metal pores and makes everything super smooth, water beads right off so I'm not too worried about rust or corrosion.
 
nice guns! But out of curiousity im going to ask, why did you bother buying 2 of the exact same gun? Seems kind of pointless unless you are going to "dual wield" at targets.. which from experience really doesn't work. (I am all for buying whatever you want cause its your money, but I am just curious if there was a particular reason)

Well if one is dead, I know it's Glock but who knows, he can still go to the range and shoot the other (Could be handy in a competition), but it can also be for shooting with your girlfriend/wife/friend, I mean it surely would look cool to see two buddies shooting the same shiny gun together at the range, I'd do it if I had enough money.
 
Fair question, the simple answer would be, why not? Truthfully, the only handguns I'll ever own are glocks. I've tried quite a few other pistols nothing seems to stick. I like glock for the simplicity, ease of maintenance, comfort and reliability just to name a few. In the end I'd like to have two of every model I want, G17, 19, 21, maby 20 and possibly a .45 sub compact, we'll see. For now I might just buy a G20 slide to go on one of my 21s. I do like the G20 but I don't reload and ammo supply is too inconsistant to buy the complete gun.. In the near future I'll have my two G21SF's and two G17's One of which might be the new RTF.... What can I say, I want to collect glock, be a glock whore if you will....
