Got the Taurus Judge (Pic Heavy)

Sorry guys, it's been a hectic couple of weeks. I got the Judge out last weekend for a whirlwind session. I didn't get to spend as much time as I would like, but here's an abbreviated report.

The pistol balanced well, but the grip IMO is much too small for a revolver with a 6.5 inch barrel. Recoil gets your attention as the trigger guard likes to bash your middle finger, though strangely I noticed this less the more I shot it.

Here's a pic of one of the targets. All shots were taken at 5 yards which I feel is probably the maximum effective distance for shot rounds. The five head shots were from 45 long colt. I only shot five rounds of 45LC and the group would have been much better once I learned that you had to take a fine sight.
The buck shot rounds were aimed at center of mass and spread pretty much perfectly for the distance. You can see the rest of the target peppered by bird shot (head shots). I tried slugs but they were not as accurate at the 45LC, and quite honestly I see no reason why anyone would use them with the 45LC alternative being available. Cleaning it was interesting, there were LOTS of plastic strips to brush out of the barrel from the shot shells.
It got fairly dirty quickly and you had to give the ejector rod quite a hard rap by the end of the session to clear all the shells. It cleaned up fine though. Function was 100%. It was a blast to shoot!

Yes, mine is in the mail as we speak. Bought it also from Kodiak Outpost, was very impressed with the whole process - service, speed, everything. CFC approved the transfer on the same day, can you believe it?

Anyway, mine Judge is blued. Have already purchased both .45LC and 410 ammo and looking forward to taking it to the range when it comes. Pics and range report are coming.

Nice! I really love it! Some LEO's consider them unwanted because they've become status symbols amongst gang bangers. But then so are young hookers and SUV's with 24" rims.

I had a taurus wheel gun before and have always wanted another. I wish someone here in Canada could get me a 66SS6 or 608. I like these .357 revolvers more than even the legendary S&W 686.
