Ok, I made a few phone calls this morning and I think I understand what's going on. I also called Epps and was told that their distributor (Nicholls who is Ruger's eastern Canada distributor) does not have that model (1705) and doesn't plan on bringing them into Canada. Very strange that a distributor would not import a firearm that will clearly sell very well in Canada.

So, I then decided to call Ruger in New Hampshire and find out what the story is. They told me that they have 2 distributors in Canada. Nicholls and Inland Pacific (western Canada distributor). Ruger was unable to tell me how many 1705s were shipping to Canada. However, they did tell me that they've been shipping for the last 2 months.

It seems that Inland Pacific is the only distributor currently importing that revolver into Canada and it would explain why the western Canadian stores have them in stock, where as the eastern Canadian stores don't.

I handled one at TSE yesterday. Very nice! They were unpacking a ton of new stuff when I was there. They got a bunch of nice DW Bobtails in 10mm and 45.

I don't have 12(6) stupid me sold the ppk. BUt always wanted another 4" gun (had an old model 10 sold it in the 80's) I am a Smith and Wesson man my self but if Smith will not build a 4.2" then I will buy a ruger. I had been saving money for one but now we are on strike at work so all money is for family and house right now - damn.
Hope to have one in the next year or so. Anyone know if these will take L frame speedloaders? (I have a bunch)I heard they are the same cylinder spacing.
