New Norinco M14 Shipment Coming In!

My speculation as to the wholesale price for these rifles was only that.
I'd wager that the wholesaler is getting the rifles in the $250 price range.

Pretty much sums up everything you have said so far. When you learn the differnce between speculation and facts, only then can you try to make a point.

I have enough clout to find out exactly what you paid.
Halloween is still 3 months away, wait until them if you are going to dress up as Mr. Big Shot.

If I obtain the opportunity to place a minimum order quantity from Norinco, perhaps we'll talk.
And if top soil reaches $380.00 per pound I will be the worlds richest man (If = Not going to happen).

The second moral of the story, you cannot create facts from speculation and you can not jump to the top of an industry (leaping over of Marstar) just because you think you can. What made you decide that one day you could use a 6 inch bean stock to reach the clouds?

You have not addressed one fact in this discussion, sir.

Let me summarize:

Fact: Canadian Tire's price is $475
Fact: Canadian Tire is not loss-leading an M14
Speculation: Canadian Tire is making $100 on the rifle
Fact: Canadian Importer has a markup direct from Norinco
Speculation: Canadian Importer has a 15% markup

I understand the difference here between fact and speculation.

Halloween is still 3 months away, wait until them if you are going to dress up as Mr. Big Shot.

No need to wait, I wear that costume everyday (it's just more subtle in real life).

Question for you: how many rifles do you think I can buy with $400,000.00 CAD?

You have a great idea, but thats ware it stops. I sugjest you do about few months of research, take a few trips to China, and actually get Norinco to actually talk to you first before telling everyone your great plan.

You pretty much know nothing at this point (other then information anyone could find out in 5 mins of reading this fourm) of what is involved, good luck!!!

Hey, if these corporations can import an M14 from Norinco, believe me, so can mine.

I do not know why every one wants to fight about this -- if anyone can do business better and bring more desired mechandise to the market place, then go after it!

Everyone needs to try and do what they think is best. Some will win and some will lose.

I say good luck to everyone and let the market place sort them out.

But I will look for a report card -- say next year at this time as to who won out. Kind of like "Dragon's Den" LOL

SO what we know,

black m14

moving target $499
canadian tire $475
Frontier firearms $579.95

I paid $410 for mine with a wood stock. If the fiberglass stock is any good, then the extra $65 CT is charging seems quite reasonable. The upside being I must have about $50 in Canadian Tire Money around here somewhere. Of course it is all in 10 and 20 cent notes. :D

Wanna sell me it used for 300?

I killed the Norc Flash Hider getting it off to install my SA for the bayonet (damn zombies might need stabbin) and I put a SA rear sight on it. I can't see letting it go for that cheap.

Besides, haven't you been watching the M14 market lately? These babies are goin up in price, not down.

LOL DAMN, This website is the only one of my hobbie sites where I find used stuff selling higher than what I can buy new at the store. I'm just going to buy an sks, commie rifles are cooler anyways ;)

Moving Target $499 was his price from January for a wood stock rifle, not the new shipment. His new black synthetic M305 price is "to be announced" when they arrive. People seem to have miss-read this thread:

http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?t=312147

Canadian Tire price of $475 is according to "Steve" in sporting goods, speculating that will be the price if/when the rifles show up. Even if Canadian Tire price is legit, they ordered too few and cannot ship rifles to out of town customers. If you are not in Red Deer the day they arrive, this is a non-issue.

Frontier is the only company in this thread who has put an actual dollar value on the rifle. Everyone else is playing a wait and see game, telling people the rifles are coming without actually committing to anything. He actually has the rifles on his website, accepting pre-orders as we speak.

FYI, last I checked the website, 14 of the 30 black synthetic M305s that Frontier ordered are already sold, and there are only 3 camo ones left.

Honestly I jsut erased what I said before, I'm tired of talking about this. I scares me to see how many Sheep there are who will pay more for something they know is not a value. If I ran my business like this I would be closed in months because after word of mouth got around I was charging people more simply to line my pockets instead of giving people a fair deal no one would shop in my store.

it goes back to something an old manager told me "people should expect and want to pay more cause they know they are supporting a local business."

he's now out of business

This IS a good thread - it IS better than TV!

"Man's obssession in hunting the lowest price possible for all time"

And once purchased - the price is only allowed to go up becuse if it drops, everyone who paid more then the absolute lowest all time price (not including shipping or taxes) somehow becomes "suckers" or "losers".

this is great.......to see who will be the lowest pricer payer and get to wear the Grand Pobah Horns at the end of it all....

Everyone MUST post their receipt and then we can all see who the grand Champion is!

There is a reality show in here somewhere..

I just got off the phone with my local store 15 minutes ago and she asked me to call back saturday and she will have a final price for me

That was the point I was trying to make. Frontier has a "buy it now" price and is currently accepting orders, while you have a "call back on Saturday for a price".

Your price may work out better in the end, but that wasn't the point. People who wait can often find better deals (provided they don't wait too long and miss out). $499 is indeed cheaper then $579, and if this works out for you, great! But does the slight difference in price justify 12 pages of drama and mudslinging?

Fixed for you.

Lots of time for shoppers to get quotes from the vendor of their choice before August 10th. There is more than one vendor. That has been proven.

Oh my god, will this never end....
"Are you from Marstar?" Yes I am the founder and sole owner.... SOmetimes I even know what I am talking about....

PERHAPS it was not made clear to you OR the fellow you were speaking to did not understand, he/she should have explained that ALL the parts we had were used up, no more would be made from the parts inventory we had....

"I have enough clout to find out exactly what you paid. Money talks."
If it as that important to you, go for it....

How interesting, SO you must be Robert Nicholls, I will give you a call tomorrow there are a things I wish to discuss with you/

"If I obtain the opportunity to place a minimum order quantity from Norinco, perhaps we'll talk."
I was not aware that there were minimum orders at Norinco ??
Regardless let me know when you have something we might like....

I didn't know Frontier reduced their price from $639 to $579. I would guess that this thread affected their decision, but personally, I would not have adjusted my pricing. Being a gun shop, I would have just offered an M14 with head space checked, oiled, iron sighted at 100 yards, etc., etc., and just called it value added at $639.95. I mean that is all you have to do if you are pricing up. Armco does it all the time with their Norincos, quite successfully.
