Blew up my Lee hand primer tonight

When I started to load 9mm my research told me not to reload these types of brass due to poor quality or primer pocket issues

So I would sort the junk and throw it away.
Thanks for the reminder.

Did all the primers blow?

Yes, you can also add Fed NT to that list if your not going to ream the pockets as well, and there is a casing labelled 9x19 and some letters, it also has a tight pocket.

Glad to hear you are OK......

This reminds me of a story, about primers & big bangs, I heard at the local range a couple of months back.......

The way the story was told...... about 10 to 15yrs ago one of the Armourers at the RCMP training depot (here in Regina) had a bunch of primers that were questionable, so he didn't want to load them, (small flood in a basement or some such)

They put "at least 15,000" (according to the story teller) primers in a box.... and then shot the box with a .308..... BIG HUGE BANG apparently..... Dust falling from the ceiling, ears rang for a hour even with ear plugs and muffs on..... and picking up primers from all over the indoor 100m range......

Thats right, aparently this all took place at the 100m indoor range at the depot!

It's probably not true, but one heck of a story, from a really good story teller!

Cheers!

Glad you are ok. I have not experienced this myself, and have used all makes of primers when I had a Lee hand primer. I now have a Hornady one. Got tired of the cheap pot metal breaking.
