Great day of shooting behind Summerland

Ahh I couldn't remember what calibre it was

I haven't touched my scope either, will have to bore sight it and re zero at a hundred and this time properly reset my turrets when I do. I only just cleaned my rifle lightly yesterday when I replaced and adjusted my new Timney trigger, which Jerry is great though I had to do some fitting and fiddling around to get the bolt release button to not stick as much and the trigger pull to what I wanted.

and shows how wrong my memory was for the other rifles and scopes too lol, all I could remember was the 223,338 and 308s, I forgot what yours was. great rest though and that thing got on target with no problems too.

I had a smaller camera hiding in my pocket that I pulled out to take those pics, the big one was used for the target pics.

Thanks for bringing the target setup too.. Being my first time it took me a while but on my very last round I had I managed to hit that 680x gong, very gratifying.

it was neat to see the damage, or lack thereof, caused by the smaller caliber rifles. they didnt even dent the plate! That one gong that i flipped right over, almost had a hole right through it. Would have been neat to see what ApaPros 338 wouldd have done to one of them.

Shooting a Mag fed rifle off a bipod? :) Where were you for the TAC match this year Jerry?

Was great to see that you and Nadine got to Chilliwack.

Family seems to take up most of my weekends and the year just flies by.

Love to come out and give the tactical shoot a try. Maybe next year.

Do you know if anyone was shooting a 223 in a bolt rifle?

If you are heading up this way in the fall, let me know...

Jerry

Just razzing you Jerry. :) Family takes priority over all other things.

I'm not sure about the bolt 223's at the match. There were definately 223's there just not sure if they were semi's or bolt, maybe post up the question...The match is a ton of fun, I'm sure you would like it.

For sure I'm heading up that way this fall, six weeks booked off again for the season :D Nadine has set her goal for this fall of looking for a 4pt Mulie.

Looks like fun, great post. As usual on this site, didn't take long for safety nazis to chirp in. Probably the same guys who squeal at photos of girls with their finger on the trigger:rolleyes:

Of course the Hillbilly from Saskatchewan just found the thread!!:D

Thanks again to Mysticplayer and Knockturnal for getting the gear and the guys together!!!! I had a blast and had fun meeting and shooting with a few new guys!!

Knock' we have shot a lot of steel with the Lapua and a wildcat called the Swamp Donkey. The bullets make nice holes in 3/8 plate out to 800+ yards!!!!

The most penetration we have seen was with the old aluminum tipped Wildcats!!! 5/8" Kevlar board (used in building cash boxes) 3/8" plate steel gong and 1 1/2" plywood, and we didn't catch any bullets at 800 yards!!!

The 5/8 Kevlar board will stop a 175 SMK out of a .308 at 500 yards!!!

The weather was unreal especially when you are coming from +12 deg c as a high for the day!!!! Almost had to detour through Creston to get home cause of all the fires!!!

Again thanks to all the guys that showed up and helped out!!! I'll let Mystic know when I will be back for another round of shooting!!! July 2010 (kind of like the olympics:D)

Later
