just wondering where u can get deactivated guns , i seen collectors source website n found it really good just wondering if there is anymore

Best bet is to watch EE , milsurp section. I know there are a few on there right now, and they always pop up now and then.

Although, i would also like to know of any websites besides collectors source?

Although deacs are not every one's cup of tea, they do provide a great source of collectible weapons which are not accessible to most firearms enthusiasts.

They are ideal for militaria collectors who are not licenced to purchase firearms, but want the correct pistol, rifle, smg or mg for displays or reenactments. Deacs are suitable for firearms collectors who don't possess the correct PAL classification for purchasing a functional firearm.

As you may already know, the importation into Canada of deactivated firearms has been terminated. That means what is here now is it. Any new deacs must be sourced from what is already in country (ie: CA's and other prohibs, non restricted and restricted firearms).

I purchased a couple of deacs from the Collectors Source. A Finnish KP31 smg and a Finnish captured DP28 mg. They were in arsenal refinished condition, and the deac process was neatly done and almost unnoticeable.

They filled some missing pieces in my Finnish and Soviet collections.

What's the difference between dewat & safe queen? Dewat is worth twice the price on EE.

But I can see the door is closing on dewat the same way what happened to replicas. All it takes is a liberal win in the next election.

The term "safe queen" can apply either to a minty unfired firearm the owner wishes to maintain in that condition, or to a grandfathered item (ie: CA's) that cannot be lawfully transported to a range due to the termination of SAP's.

Though, I'm sure there are more imaginative interpretations of that expression....

Dewat or deac is a firearm that is no longer capable of functioning due to welding, grinding and pinning to a specific standard.

Current dewat laws make the old "#### and click" guns worth a lot more,, I'd rather have a dewat than look at a new Honda and think,, THAT WAS A LEWIS MACHINE GUN! I wish I had a dewat Lewis!! If,, IF, I was given an old MG, from somebodys barn,, I would have to sit down,, have several Crown Royals before deciding it's fate! Being a FAC'D gun owner obviously I would have to turn it in for destruction!;) Dewatting at least saves the history,, not unlike my safe queen FN & AK.
