wondering if anyone knows where I can buy some .577/.450 rounds for my newly acquired 1884 Martini

You will most likely have to build your own. Epps may have brass.
It is not .577 caliber, it is .462 - .466 caliber according to which Mark it is... must be a Mk.4 with the 1880's date. Where are you, by the way.......I'll never understand why guys don't put their location on! It would save me asking the same question over and over. You will need to either buy some loaded rounds or make your own. I do believe that there are some loaded rounds available through Cabela's....I think. By the time you buy twenty brass, dies and a bullet mould it might be more than you would want to invest. If you were close to me I could possibly help you out. Dave

Try buffalo arms in the states. Thats where a i get all of my weird brass from.

Epp's might have loaded ammo, but it won't be cheap. OWS lists .577-450 ammo at $114.99US per 20. Epp's is their Canadian distributor.
Shooter's Choice lists Bertram brass at $154.95 per 20. I have a how-to for making reloadable brass out of 3/4" brass bar stock if you want it. Either way, you'll be reloading.

Don't 24 ga brass shotgun shells work also if you find some dies? They might be a bit less dear than those you list.

sorry Dave new on here, haven't had the chance to fill my whole profile out. I live in Kitchener-Waterloo.
Epps carries Martini-Henry ammo....Cost is $5 each, loaded with Blackpowder...However, the guy that does the reloading will only charge you about $1.50 per round if you bring in your own brass for reloading... I`m happy with the arrangement.....

The 24 gauge brass (I have found) will deform at the base. The base is not as thick as it should be. I have had better lick with 577 snider on the 24 ga brass than the 577/455. Bertram is good as well but it needs to be annealed ( it's too brittle).

thats what I'm using, good thick brass. Bullets I bought a bunch of 45-70 405grn lead with gas checks, a little undersized for the bore but still work fine.
