Good chance to see grown men cry this weekend (Aug 1-2, Sat and Sunday) at the BRSC Nationals in Regina! We will be shooting light varmint and heavy varmint at 100 and 200 yds for group. Held at the Regina Fish and Game League Range. Typical day will be from 9am to 4pm with a break for lunch.

BRSC info: http://www.benchrest.ca/BRSC.html

Directions to range as follows:

Take #11 Highway north out of Regina which is the highway heading towards Saskatoon.

On #11 you will see a set of weigh scales. The turnoff to the range is the first left after the weigh scales. You should see a sign reading"Recreation Area" that is the left that you will take.

You will go approximately one mile on that road and then you will take the first left which will take you down into a valley. The range is on the right hand side about 1/4 mile.

Can I just watch? I can't be there both days but would love to check it out.

Yes. Bring some hearing protection. A lawn chair and bug spray might be handy as well. If you have a spotting scope you should bring it. It is always interesting to watch the groups form on the target as the shooters try and deal with the wind. There will be other scopes available if you don't have one.

Be sure and introduce yourself!

I wish I could make it. This is a busy summer for me. I wanna be in on this one so bad. Don't think I could shoot in it anyways as I'm sure my 6br is over 13 lbs.

Come out for a look anyways. It will give you a plan for the next match! Of course the slippery slope is very unforgiving!

Heck, come out Friday afternoon and there will be a bunch of us practicing, I would be happy to have you shoot a few groups out of my rifle. The first hit is free.....

When on Friday? I would love to bring my rifle to try a hand at it before the real guys take over. Is this possible?

The bench shooters will be practicing from noon until about 4. I think you will need to be a competitor or a Regina member to shoot on your own at this time.

If you want to try a few groups, you can with my rifle. This would be under my supervision, just to keep everyone happy.

I hope to make it there by noon. If I am not there when you get there, look for Jeff, Dan, Tony, Lyle, Paul, among others, anyone of them would be happy to push you down the slope....

12-4 only?

Heck this Manitoban loves pulling the trigger so much I may be shooting all night. We are shooting the BALD prairie scape, WINDY:D

I have to get accustomed to shooting right to left croswinds. Oh yah and my gun prefers left to right from about 7-8.:D

Should be a great time.

I suppose you can shoot until the sun goes down, I won't be! I will be too tired. I will have been on the road since about 4am, then practice a bit, then somewhere for a steak, then lights out.

Some of the guys camping at the range might shoot longer.

Here is the thing. I have to finish my garage Friday, Saturday morning I am working on garage and sat evening I am blowing up gophers and then Sunday starts week long family camp trip.

Doh, I have a scheduling failure.
