Type 97 Classification Issues - PART TWO

Having almost $1000 tied up for a year with nothing to show for it is definitely a sign of loyalty...I don't plan on asking for my money back until the RCMP starts chopping the Type 97...

Your blood would boil over if you knew all of the details, I know Canam is doing everything he can to win this one.

X2 - My blood has boiled several times and is on a slow simmer right now.

There have been a few avenues of recourse suggested to me as an owner of the T97. I hesitate because I know so little of what has gone on behind the scenes...there is secrecy on all fronts. I don't want to do anything that would be counter productive or harmful to something being undertaken by another party. What has the NFA or CSSA done regarding this situation?

Perhaps the owners of T97's should form and owners group and share info/strategy? I'd be up for that....

well I ordered my T97 this time last year and have been able to hold out until now but after talking to Chris today, there is still no idea when we will have an answer. I can't have this kind of money tied up into something I don't even have yet.

Sorry Canada Ammo, I tried to hold out but I must pull the pin on this order for now. However if or when this rifle is available, I will be placing my order with you again. Best of luck to you and everyone holding out.

I am wondering if a transfer would be approved from one t97 owner to another.

Or if guys like Clobb really are "stuck" with their rifles, short of turning them in for destruction.

Maybe getting clarification on that might bust up the log jam a little or at least get some idea if they are going to go the 12-x route and give the guys some sort of status.

I opted for a in house credit, I still have one of Clobb's rails for when they do come around but for now I'm ordering some other toys to play with.
Thanks to Mark & Chris @ Canada Ammo for making this experience a good one.
And thanks to all who contributed @ Canadian gunnutz for this thread has been one of my larger learning experiences with firearms, Laws, & the governing bodies.
Over & out...Retepnosflow!!!!!!

Ah s**t, I just saw the model 97, I'm an idiot, carry on....'

edit: christ, it's even in the red rifle section lol...

No worries... I made that mistake before something like if they were talking about some type of revolver while reading a thread in the rifle section.

Result.... I got back handed. LOL!

Back on topic, for some reason, I kept thinking WTH is a T97 and people making $1k deposit for them... Hmm... Could it be the $3k Tavor? Haha...

It's been a while since anyone has said anything here. Grasping at straws...but does anyone have anything useful and new they know?
Where our our rifles?

Canam,

Anything the ranks and files could do to help you out? Anybody we should be harassing and/or trying to bring attention on?

I hope this doesn't turn out like the container of Medved and other goodies that Armrus had gotten approbation to import... then got 'seized'...

I met with MP twice about this (he is CPC) and last time around we got to talking about possible CACP involvement in this firearms mess...He's clearly not a CACP fan and will keep on pushing for answers for us...

THe very best thing you can do is meet with your MP and explain the issue and that you are not happy with the arbitrary reclassification. Also, follow up weekly with your MP to ensure they have spoken to Van Loans office, and don't take a simple answer like they can't talk about it because... This does help, believe me.

CanAm:

....You are THE ONE, THE ONE who is going to terminate this re-classification madness....

May the force be with you...
