It seems Ithaca is up and running for the 76 th times. I was considering getting an 8 shots defense model to go along my junky model 37.

Any clue if these are going to be distributed around?

Regards

Prophet River Firearms (sakoAlberta) www.prophetriver.com is the Canadian distribitor for Ithaca.Give Clay a call ,they have just receiver their first order of Ithacas.

From what I have read and heard about them these new Ithacas (Made in Ohio,USA)are on par with the shotguns made back in the 1950's as to workmenship and quality.

I have an Ithaca 28 gauge Model 37 on its way to me.Hope to have it by the end of the week.

I just recieved my new 20 gauge featherweight from Clay, It is superbly built beautiful little gun, Iam taking it out for sporting clays and skeet tomorrow:D:D

You guys are getting the juices flowing again! I have model 37s in 12 and 16 ga. and a Rem M31 in 20. The Rem. is slick as a whistle but I sometimes put myself to sleep thinking about the threesome in Ithacas.:D

I have just bought a Browning BPS and it should be here in the next couple of days. A member of the club seemed to think it is an upgraded version of an Ithaca pump. Your thoughts?

Although the Ithaca Model 37 and Browning BPS are both bottom ejection from what I know the internals of the shotguns are different.

Please report on how it shoots. As far as I know, you may be the first person to pull a trigger on the 'new' 37's in Canada! Reports have been all positive , so far, but only from inspection.
I'll have pics up very soon on all the Ithacas in stock.

Here's the only pic so far. Its the only 'defender' type still in stock - an 8 shot syn.

I don't know if the new ones are like the old ones, but on the old ones barrel swapping is a joke. Turn mag cap in all the way, slide action bar all the way back, turn barrel 1/4 turn and pull barrel out.

I shot 250 rounds through mine today on the skeet and trap fields, functioned perfectly, shot a 144 out of 150 skeet and 89 of 100 at trap. Fit and finish is superb on mine and it fits like a glove. Thanks Clay for bringing them in [a great idea :p] I could not be happier:D:D

LOL, gee, I wonder whose idea it could have been?????
Glad to hear it work well. I figured it likely would from all the reports. I was just setting up to do pics of the dozen or so we have for inventory-then the rain started again. i'll try again in the AM. Some look really good! :)

Very interesting Clay, these shotguns without ribs.At one time the plain barrel was the norm on most pump and autoloading shotguns.Nowadays you very seldom see a new pump or auto loader without a rib.Interesting that Ithaca would choose to produce some of their new Ithaca Model 37 shotguns without ribs.

Mine is the first 20 gauge featherweight vent rib in the country, it came with 3 nicely fited Brily tubes I.C. Mod and Full, could not be happier with this gun!!!
Thank's again Clay!!
