Type 97 Classification Issues - PART TWO

I received a nice message from my MP stating that due to an ongoing lawsuit they couldn't comment on it... me thinks someone is fibbing... I've asked for the names of the involved parties (public record), and haven't heard back... lucky for me, his office is right across the street from where I work... time for me to take a little walk over ..:)

Yes do so.

Hypothetical Question:

If a company like CanAm did start a legal challenge to the classification, how many people would contribute to a fund?

Such action might cost 20-30 thousand dollars, although costs might be recovered if successful.

I spoke with Inky Mark this morning. He said he was aware of what was going on and was also had purchased firearms from the guy out west(not sure if it was canam or lever) but said that it was customs fault, He said that he was aware of what was going on and that vaan loan was not able to help
I came out of that conversation, with the feeling that everyone is blaming everyone else and that he was not willing to put the pressure on to anyone.

Customs has nothing to do with this. Keep putting pressure.

I think it very much would have happened under Stockwell Day, because the decisions were not made at the ministerial level.

However, I do believe once it was drawn to his attention, Stock would have done something about it. I think it is scandalous that PVL has sat on his hands. I know for a FACT that he has inquired into the situation, but done nothing further.

It is looking like PvL may be part of the problem ... a Toronto area MP may be afraid to be firm on this issue because of the potential effect on his home riding. Maybe he needs replacing with someone better able to deal with this portfolio.

It costs nothing to challenge the decision in court. Spencer did it on his own, and got his open bolt stens classified as restricted.

The issues in Spencer's case are different from this one. Very different.

And he won? Did the crown appeal it?

Technically, Spencer did not win his case. He brought them to court, and prior to a judicial ruling the RCMP agreed to allow his newest modified version to be registered as restricted. So, no precedent.
