Canadian source ...

Go up a couple of posts ... White Falls ... good guy to deal with (personal experience.)

Whereas, I bought mine from Phil (whitefalls.ca), if that happened to me, I'd call him up, he'd probably stop by my house to drop off a new one and pick up the old one. I've got at least 400 rounds through my 300WM, with the 3-10x40 Mueller SportDot. Still holds .75" at 100, as long as I'm doing my part.

Every scope brand in existence has had a failure or two along the way. It's statistically impossible not to.

But if the percentage of failures is way up for the number of sales, then it's a different story. The trick, of course, is to find out which brands these are, and stay away from them.

I thought they would be good scopes for the money. I bought a Mueller 4-16X50 Sport Dot at a gun show, sold as new in box.

I don't remember if I even got a receipt or if I did, what I did with it. The new scope sat on the shelf for 8 or 9 months and then got mounted to a Norc M14S with an Arms 18 mount. A hundred rounds or so later this happened.
The scope is sitting level, the reticle... not so much

I contacted Mueller for warranty or repair, no go. Won't service in Canada. White Falls won't help because I didn't buy off of him. In the end I am out several hundred dollars for a useless paper weight.
I buy Leupold now, in the end it is cheaper.

It takes a rich man to buy cheap scopes.

I have exactly the same issue with a 10X Super Sniper. And no way to ship it stateside (where the dealer is) for warranty (it was bought before all this 9-11 Homeland Security nonsense). Local talent can't fix it (checked). My next option is try mailing it to a friend down south and having him ship it SWFA for repairs. So it goes. - dan

It seems the safest bet is to buy only from the Canadian distributor, Whitefalls, if you expect warranty. I see from the US website they say limited lifetime warranty, and say that if you buy from the original purchaser, be sure to get their original receipt from when they bought it. Not sure if that applies here in Canada or not. Still, I think its a good scope for the money. I bought an APV that I use on my 223 bolt action, got it direct from Phil who personally delivered it. For a $200 scope it is pretty sharp and clear. I can see 22 cal holes in paper at 200 yards with it and its always held zero. I think it would be good to talk to Phil about your specific application to make sure the scope is up to it. An M305 is supposed to really rattle a scope hard, some say. I have a Burris FFII on mine, and its holding zero, knock wood.

I have long stated that it takes a rich man to buy cheap scopes. The one exception I found was Mueller. I have an 8-25X50 that is a very adequate varmint scope.

If it craps-out, it I wouldn't waste a stamp on sending it anywhere. Best to buy good optics that will last a lifetime.
