We've been offerred a 'deal' on some brownings. They are all the same-built for a now bankrupt US chain of sporting good stores. They seem to be a 'base model' citori but with a satin finish. If preordered, it looks like we could offer them for a little under $1500. We deal very little in Brownings. Is this a good deal?

Those look like 30 inch barrels. I think you'll find most guys are comfortable with the 28's max. I suppose you would find buyers, but I believe WSS sells them for around the $1500 mark but with the shorter tubes.

good to know. We likely won't bother if they are about that price anyway. Thanks.

I think they look like 28" barrels. Do they have Choke tubes?

Win/64 is certainly more knowledgable then I in regards to these things, so if he called them 28 I'd go with that. As for the price I can't say for sure. But last year when I was looking for a new shotgun I was planning on a Lightning Feather when my Gold Fusion turned up instead. But I thought the price on the base Citori model was $1500. Maybe I'm on crack or maybe the price went up. If that is the case and you can sell them for that price you should do well. I have always liked the Citori's and alot of guys just love them. Good luck. :)

That is a 2009 limited run Citori Satin Lightning. They come in only 3 1/2" and with 28" Inv+ barrels. They might have been a Shot Show dealer order only gun. There are a number of US dealers selling them on the net for $1250-1350 US. This gun is meant to be used for hunting (hence the 3 1/2" chamber).

Thanks. I didn't know about the 3.5" chambers. :)

And check which type of chokes they have, the "Invector" or the "Invector +", I think it was mid 90's that they went to the "+". IIRC

$1500 for a brand new Citori...decent price, not spectacular.

*Sorry just read the new info

$ 1,500.00 would be a good price especially for a waterfowl gun I'm not sure where these guys come up with these prices but when I go to the same dealers it's not anywhere near what they had said on these forms . As far as BBl length if they were 30'' bbls that would be fine when you do some research the top competitive shooters use longer bbs for a better sighting plain and swing and follow through .

Under $1450. tax in?, that's a pretty good price. Shouldn't have any trouble selling those.
My question would be, If the distributor for the guy going broke can sell them at that price, why wouldn't a supplier sell them at that price to any gun dealer/store?

They likely would. Just have the right contacts. Also, these are a US gun; so they have to be imported to Canada. Not an easy thing. :)

Thanks,
A friend of mine is looking for a decent O/U shotgun, could be the right price for him. How many are you bringing in, and could you post when they arrive?

I have held one of these guns and they are not spectacular. A nice gun, but very pedestrian wood and metalwork. Certainly worth $1450.00 but not comparable to other catalogue models of the Citori. You can't go wrong with a Citori, just don't think that you are getting the $2000.00 Citori for $1450.00, you're not. Certainly worth while though,

Patrick

interest

I can certainly see where there would be interest in a "working man's" citori. Something that can be banged around a bit but still has citori quality. I don't really need one, but I'm thinking about it. lol.
