So i broke down and got a PE90

Yep me too.

.. Anyone know what the flash suppressor threading is? ½”-28 tpi as AR?

How about a source for mags... ?

Never having handled one of these things myself, how the heck do you visually check the chamber clear on those ? AFAIK the ejection port is a hole in the bottom of the handguard, hardly practical to use ....

Ammo: 62-63 grain. Don't waste your time with 55 grain. Mine actually likes the 62 American Eagle the best out of the factory stuff, including the RUAG 63 ammo.

G96 your rifle. Otherwise not much else. Optics/rings and it's ready to go. Or just iron sights depending on which model you bought.

Cause everybody is pushing them

what do I need to know about this rifle?

They are amazing rifles. I broke down and bought one a few years ago and my only regret is in a moment of weakness I sold it. I never had any real issues with it but some stuff to keep in mind is:

- If you don't want that ugly ejection port scuff, use some sticky velcro just behind the port opening.

- If you have a B&T top rail, use a little blue loc-tite and buy the correct wrench if you don't already have one (7mm). Mine came loose at the most inopportune time.

- About the only real maintenance you'll have to do is a bit of gas tube/piston rod cleaning. The receiver can go with out for quite a few rounds.

Flash hider is part of the barrel and is not threaded (unless you are talking about the CQBs)

Mine shot everything well but Epoxy7 is right, the 62-63 (M855 or RUAG) gets the best accuracy out it.

What do you mean by G96 your rifle? Thanks :)

if im not mistaken g96 is a grease in a tube sold at banadian tire its a multi purpose grease..some guys like it better than gun oil

i think

Ah - ok - thanks! I bought a classic green a month ago and just love it, but am still learning tips and tricks.

I just got an ACOG TA31F for it yesterday and am anxious to go shooting this Saturday.

The flip up front night site needs to be flipped down when not night shooting. The gas system is manually adjustable. Put some tape or velcro over the ejection port.

Oh ya,
clean the gas system ALOT...Like everytime. The crust build-up is epic. The manual is good to help lern ya up about field stripping etc..
