Hey all, looking for some opinions. After having passed up a new CZ twice in the past for good used deals, I have decided to pick up an SP01. I was looking at the Tactical as I like the decocker, but was wondering if the Shadow was worth the extra money (although I loose the decocker).

The gun will be for target shooting as I already have an IPSC pistol.

Thanx in advance

Sights also different - loose night sights for fibre optic, gain oversize controls and smoother trigger. I had a used Tactical, liked it well enough that sold it and bought a new Shadow. Difference is under $100 so less a money issue than what features do you prefer issue. I already had a G17 with night sights as "tactical" pistol and did not have a "target" pistol... (and have FS92 with decocker).

Shadow's better. The decocker is useless for IPSC as it only half-decocks, and the safety is a great place to sit your strong hand thumb in a 1911 style shooting grip. Not to mention the internal finessing that makes it a better shooter.

+2 on the Shadow.
Had the Tactical...but the FO front sight and smoother/lighter trigger clinched it for me.....Chopped in the Tactical for the Shadow....never looked back!

I vote for the shadow as well, but I am not a big fan of decockers.

Also from the couple of store I have looked at the Shadow is about $10-$15 cheaper than the Tactical.

i own a shadow ,it's my main pistol range since 4 months, it's the best stock-trim target pistol money can buy in this $ class. as one stated the safety lever is a nice rest for your RH thumb, if you have large paws you might add a grip cuze the stock is kind of a bit on the thin side.

the red optic fibre needle front sight is pretty cool as well as the adjustable rear....the trigger in stock form has a smooth and precise action.

but i'm in waiting time mode right now. i wait for my second SP01 , one of the few tactical in .40 caliber.

i love my shadow with the safety lever, but i dont care about the tactical decocker lever as well....just another procedure to remember, but i do admit that i'd rather get a safety switch instead of the decocker on the tactical, i feel safer with a manual decocking procedure than with a decocking lever, mechanical things may break anytime lol

Thanks for the opinions. I guess I'll be picking up a Shadow once I have all the cash. Who has the best prices in BC for a Shadow?
