Anyone ever tried one of these? Are there even any in Canada? Just something I stumbled upon on the internet, sounds cool to me. Ar aesthetics and feel with the cost savings of 7.62x39 ammo. I guess it would probably be restricted though.

No, mags for prohibited firearms are totally uncontrolled just like mags for their restricted/non-restricted counterparts.

The pinned to 5 rule is not related to the class of firearm - it is for magazines designed for use in a semi-auto, centerfire rifle.

I meant "uncontrolled" as in anyone can buy them over the counter regardless of license class.

If it resembles an AR, or an "evil black assault weapon of mass death", than of course it'll be restricted.

You are very "welcome", considering that there is a export ban on 7.62 X 39 by the US States department, it will be probably be the last of these caliber rifles you will ever see coming out of the US.
