GRIZZLY 18.5`mag feed shotgun 3inch magnum

I noticed the new deal on the Grizzly mag feds from badboybeeson say 3 inch magnum. The last ones were chambered for 3 inch but they weren't presented as 3 inch because of feed problems. Was something modified on these ones?

I purposely never tried 3" in my grizzly because of all the reading I did on these forums. My grizzly also has 2 3/4 stamped on it.

Canam did say in post 7 on the following thread they they are advertised at 2 3/4 because they only feed reliably with 2 3/4....

I thought maybe bbb had made some adjustments to make the 3" feed reliably. I guess I will try and see how it goes with the 3". Thanks!

No problem. Now to find some time to get out and try some 3 inch shells.

An unmodified grizzly-mag does not cycle the 3" shells reliably. I monkeyed with mine a bit, and have successfully dumped a mag of the 3 inchers more than once, but mostly it just jams up.

Either BadBoyBeeson has come up with a cool way of making it work, or it's a typo.

After smoothing the mags feed lips and chamfering the barrel a little mine feeds 3"ers no problem.

I have fired some 3 inch through mine with no problems. Some 3 inch 000 Buck & 3 inch 1 ounce rifled slugs.

Just curious, but why would one want to shoot 3" when 2-3/4" shells work just fine? Doesn't 3" cause more recoil? I guess you would want 3" if you were shooting big game like bears etc.
