two questions:
[1]-what is entailed for BC hunters to hunt deer in saskatchewan?
[2]-is there any farms that cater to deer hunters on a Bed and Breakfast basis?

A hunting license and permission to hunt on private land. No need for a guide or anything else.

I don't know of any, but most small towns have a hotel and a cafe. That'll take care of all your needs for food and lodging.

I haven't been down that way for since I was a kid but we had friends in Maple Creek and I still remember seeing huge mulies in the hay fields and pastures.

Has any out of province guys here hunted Saskatchwan?Local knowlege is crucial when hunting a new area

I think all the AB deer died too!

Mebbe try MB.

:D

Download the regs, read and re-read. Some seasons, and some areas are not available to non-residents.

Cheers
Trev

I've heard the best place to hunt deer is just ouside the city limits of Toronto, my buddy says the amount of Deer there are incredible.

Last I heard, no open season for mulies (or pronghorn, or pheasants)
for non-residents of Saskabush !

The week long season for Canadian non res. in Sask. is usually the end of the season and usually very cold so bring warm clothes!!!!Many years the snow is too deep to walk then, kinda a raw deal for those folks.

This is right out of the 2009 Saskatchewan Hunter's & Trapper's guide:

And $137.38 for the tag.

Still well worth it. My brother shot a beauty 158 6/8 buck within 2 miles of our house. We ended up late for supper in Regina thanks to that big bugger!

oUt of province cant hunt the drawn species like elk ,moose , mule deer ,and speed goats but from our good old trusty C.O and there cwd tatics and the winter and all the doe tag the mule are vanishin fast ....

the only thing u can hunt is white tail last week of novemebr .

Any truth to the rumor that it's the last year Canadian non residents can hunt Sk without a guide?

I didn't see anything in the regs about it.

I've hunted in Sask for several years after moving away. The first year I flew out there were guys from Ontario getting on the plane, which was already filled with New Brunswick and Quebec hunters. At the airport I met an old boss who was there to meet his father coming in from BC. Not knowing the land is a disadvantage, and for lack of a better term, that is what a guide would add to the hunt. But no Canadian NEEDS a guide to hunt in Saskatchewan. Read and respect the species rules, and you won't have problem. Getting around the grid roads, retreiving downed game and travelling to the small town where you booked rooms, is not a trip you want to attempt in an average airport rental car.

There may be some truth to this. There has been an incredible number of charges laid against out of province hunters over the last number of years.
