The 44 mag is a touch too small but the 45 colt seems to work OK. I guess my biggest concern is the bullet...need a .436 Dia. and I'm not set up to cast my own. Also once I have that little nugget the casing neck dia. is .470 (Cartridges Of The World) which indicates one hell of a crimp.

Slug the bore; I have never had a gun in that caliber but it sounds almost like .436 is a bore diameter not groove. In a general sense; slug the bore on any old gun --- it is common for the dimensions to be different from the published stats.
