If they ever did decide to ban hand guns. would people who legally own hand guns be "grandfathered"

or would i be required to turn in all my hand guns?

Most likely be grandfathered, but who knows. Other personal property has been required to be turned in for destruction.

1. There are no stupid questions, only question that haven't been asked.

2. On the "ban" thing..... no one really knows.... but I don't think we'll see a "ban", but if they did it would be along the lines of "grandfathering" like they did with the 12(6) guns.

NAA.

They (Lieberals) want them out of your hands...Do not kid yourselfs old dudes and young noobs...I am in my 30's and have watched it all constrict in my short time (shooting since I could walk).

thats all I have to say...

Well, this topic's been gone over ad infinitum, but I'll say this...

I hope for grandfathering, if it comes to it.

Not turning them in and fighting it out.... well, with a family to feed and take care of, jail isn't an option for me. And my pockets are barely deep enough for rent and the like, never mind a protracted court ordeal.

Many chest thumpers will crucify my position...but I can't see another way to go.

I try to do the things I can now, to see it never comes to that.

.

i hope there's a grandfathering clause if it happens (preying that it doesnt)

that's why when the had the potential of the conservative government being defeated, i rushed and buyed a 100$ norcarev from canadaammo just to have one
else i would have waited and baught something better

now i have to wait another year till i graduate from university....

Can you imagine how big the illegal gun market would be if they required all legal guns to be turned in? If there's a demand now among criminals that generates smuggling imagine the immense market that prohibition would create.

That is very true. but you got to think in liberal mentality to make sense of a hand gun ban...

"if you ban hand guns, every single hand gun will be off the street and there will be no shootings"

They live in a fantasy world that doesn't exist. but for some reason there's tons of them in canada.

Didn't the UK and Australia force owners to turn in their pistols and pay compensation? I can't imagine how much that would cost the tax payers. However I'm sure the Liberals would have no problem spending tax dollars on such a ridiculous scheme.

yea that is true. a co-worker from the UK told me that. but then the market for illegal hand guns increased sharply. now the hand guns flow in freely from russia.

all it achieve was taking guns from the law abiding citizens and leaving us prey for the criminals...

but i bet the liberals still think the ban was effective

I just spoke with a buddy and his buds from England. The "Ban" meant a structure of handguns on a list. If your handgun was on that list, you might get a 150bucks for it, if it wasnt, by-by.
Canada, as a country, was developed by the commonwealth.
Once again, will history teach this young countries people anything?
