hi guys,...this is a repost and is in the News Digest area...
While this is not hunting, it is abuse of wildlife,..which seems to be all too common as of late. I know that everyone doesn't frequent the News Digest area, and I really wanted to get hunter's eyes on this story...If the mode could keep it up for a few hours so that we can get some more eyes on it, it would be appreciated...

Thanks

A Newfoundland Wildlife officer shoots a distressed moose in Deer Lake Aug. 10. (CBC)A young moose in western Newfoundland had to be shot by wildlife officers on Monday after being chased to the point of exhaustion and beaten with sticks by three boys on bicycles.

Police said they got a call Monday afternoon after a young moose collapsed in a backyard in Deer Lake, 50 kilometres northeast of Corner Brook.

"The moose was obviously in distress," said Deer Lake RCMP Sgt. Jacques Morneau. "[It] could not get up. It tried several times and could not stay on its feet. The animal was exhausted to the point it was near death."

Witnesses told police that three boys, all under the age of 15, were to blame.

"[They] were chasing that animal on bicycles and hitting it with sticks," said Moreau. "Apparently they chased it to the point of exhaustion."

Morneau says the scene was disturbing for him and his colleagues.

"The young moose was calling for its mother in the yard there," he said. "I mean, it's heartbreaking, right? Two officers came back here. They were totally disgusted."

Wildlife officers put the moose out of its misery with a rifle.

Morneau said the police investigation is continuing, and the boys could face charges. He said they are known to police.

What charges could fifteen years old son of #####es face in that country anyway... the only persons who could be able to get em realise what they did is their parents with real consequences (their home as jail for a long while), but if those scum bag are like that it's because of the latter persons so it won't happen.

sorry for my poor english, but you get my point i hope.

Holy jeez. If my kid did that I'd chase him with my bike and beat him with a stick.

What the hell are parents teaching their kids these days??? ... and people keep saying us law abiding hunters are the cruel ones for killing animals (in a humane way). I don't even want to imagine what that poor little moose went through. Those kids deserve whatever is coming their way in life. I'm just hoping its an encounter with a pissed off bull moose next time around.

#### does #### like this ever get me fightin' mad. Neuter the parents, they obviously can't handle raising kids.

+1.. It doesn't matter how bored you are doing this kinda stuff shows how deviant some people are. As a hunter I always feel a bit of remorse when I take game however it's back to business then cleaning, preparing, etc starts. Hearing s**t like this makes my p**s boil.

Too bad Mama wasn't around. I've got a feeling they wouldn't be so tough when 4 foot long legs are kicking their asses.

That's what I was thinking. One conciliation is that with intelligence like that they will probably remove themselves from the gene pool sooner than later.
If the little punks are too young could the parents get fined?
