wow, as long as you buy ammo from a match sponsor,
you dont have to pass chrony?
Who made up that rule?
the same loaded rounds do not fly the same out of two different barrels.
one gun may make it, and same bullet in another one fails, but it,s OK?

For ref rule - 5.8...wow, as long as you buy ammo from a match sponsor,
you dont have to pass chrony?

I guess no one can defend the rule argument any further?
was hoping there would be more debate on the subject.
I understand the principal of the rule, but what happens when
a small batch of ammo gets sent out to the public that is not up to par?
I know its not the shooters fault, but in reality, he/she does not make power factor.
Powder can stick in hoppers even in name brand ammo.
There's nothing to debate or defend...the rules are the rules...
If you are not shooting match ammo...and you shoow up at a Level 3 without testing your ammo...who's fault is that?
if im shooting match ammo i shouldnt have to test it for power factorIf i have to test it to make sure it makes the power factor then i might aswell reload my own from the start
If you're shooting the official match ammo...you "don't have to pass chrono"
You have to go to chrono to make sure your equipment passes the requiremnets of your relevant division...but they do not take a sampling of your ammo...and you do not have to do chrono. You simply show them a copy of your reciept for the "official match ammo"
BUT if I fail the chrono with the match ammo then I will be really mad.If you're shooting the official match ammo...you "don't have to pass chrono"

5.8.1.5 Match Officials reserve the right to conduct chronograph or other tests on all and any ammunition,
at any time, and a reason need not be given.
While it may exist in the rule book, does it really get used often? I doubt it.
I believe you are correct - it probably rarely gets used. I was just pointing out that it can happen.
Some people are of the impression that match ammo is exempt from chrony. We're all given (or can download) the rule book. Occasionally people tend to ignore it when posting on these forums.
I think we are forgetting the point of transportation and local law's on ammo. It's not so we don't have to chrony, some country's do not permit non residents to possess or transport certain amounts of ammo. you may not have choices in some cases, it's there to help competitors more than not. Power factors are barely enough as they stand, in my opinion.
