CMMG upper

I've owned a couple of uppers...last one was a 14.5" M4 unit.
The workmanship, fit and finish, and function were flawless.
If you can find one for sale...at a reasonable price...you should purchase it!

Do you think it's possible to fit the rock river lower with the cmmg upper.

Why wouldn't they "fit"?

The whole idea of the AR platform is that common key dimensional standards (or what lots of people commonly refer to as "mil-spec") allows different components from different manufacturers to all inter-change and fit together as long as those manufacturers follow the same basic "standard" and in most cases they do. So an upper from one manufacturer will fit on the lower from another... or X company's parts kit will fit in Y company's stripped lower... and different stocks will interchange with various lowers... etc..

There are exceptions. Colt has often used a non-standard hole size on their uppers and lowers so they won't fit other company's unless you get an adaptor piece to adjust for this... but in this case the COLT unit is non-standard and that's a known issue.

Same applies for receiver extension tubes... 2 basic types (used for collapsible stocks)... "Commercial diameter" and "Mil-Spec" diameter. In this case the commercial diameter is actually the more common size and tends to be less expensive. But regarless of who makes it both type of extension tube fit all mil-spec or "standard" lowers and regardless of who makes the stock, if it's made to fit a "commercial diameter tube" then any make commercial tube will work.

We connect RRA to CMMG all the time.

Thanks Questar, i will buy a cmmg complete upper 16inches barrel in afew minutes

Hold off for a couple days... we have some more items that haven't been put onto the site yet... wait until middle of next week and give them a chance to get posted, that way you'll have a wider selection to choose from. You might see something that better fits your needs or is of more interest to you.

I believe there are a few Rock River Arms items that have to be posted as well.

Don't buy ONE single AR from Questar

Buy TWO of them! I have an RRA 16" Midlength upper and it's super sweet. Even shot a personal career best of 523.23V last June at an ORA Match in Base Borden's Mons Range. :D

That is the problem with Questar...You go to their site and find all the good stuff.....and don't have enough cash to buy it all!!!

I love that 11.5" piston upper.....:bigHug: and his mags.....and all those sweet Sigs....:D

You'll probably love this one... can you guess what it is? :)

Mark, you`re a bad, bad boy!....Buying from you is like trying to eat just one chicken wing...it can`t be done...Buy from you just once, and you`re hooked!....And I have the (depleted) bank account to show for it!....:)

Is the 14.5 upper a piston system? Are all CMMG? Just curious?

Also is CMMG an US company?

The 14.5" Upper is a "true" M4 style upper... direct impingement.

CMMG is a US Company... they've been around for a number of years and have an excellent reputation for high quality, premium built AR's as well as other products.

We carry a wide range of CMMG products and complete rifle packages...

CMMG uses mil spec buffer tubes correct?

TDC

They do but we couldn't get permits to allow export of rifles with collapsible buttstocks so the rifles exported with no stock and we add our own stocks and tubes once they arrive in Canada.

We only last week got a shipment (separately) of mil-spec tubes and those can be purchased separately if desired... we have CMMT, LMT and our own mil-spec tubes in stock right now.

We can substitute a mil-spec tube onto one of the CMMG rifles (in place of our own commercial tube) but we don't have any mil-spec stocks from CMMG to go with them. We have a few LMT SOPMOD's and we have a variety of commercial diameter stocks.
