Mark III vs 22/45

The mark III /45 has a grip angle that is the same as the 1911 ".45" The 22/45 has a bull barrel and is super accurate. I have one and love it. Not particular about ammo, even like the yellow jacket hyper velocity. The hunetr is samller, he standard 22/45 is the way to go.

There's no such thing as the Mk III/45...it's either the Mk III or the 22/45, and both can come with bull barrels.

I had the 22/45, and while it was a good shooter, I personally didn't feel the skinny grip fit my hand all that well. When I get another one, it will definitely be the Mk III target model.

There's a Mk III 22/45, "apparently"...;)

Yes, there is a mark 3 -22/45. I own one in stainless. The new line of pistols is the Mark III series, hunter, target, and the 22/45.

I have the Ruger Mark III, Hunter with fiber optic sight and Crimson Trace Laser sight, 4-1/2" Bull Barrel, frame and barrel in Stainless Steel.

I love it! Ruger makes an excellent leather holster designed especially for it. I can`t recommend it high enough. the 22/45 didn`t fit my hand as well.

 Yes, yes...Mk III 22/45 but there's no such thing as a Mk III/45. Read his post again...it's confusing. I've owned enough Ruger products to know...lol.

Wanna meet at Phoenix some afternoon? :) Range fees are on me and I'll bring a brick!

The 22/45 has an awkward grip that is not easily changed. You need to modify the frame to change the grip but it is possible to change the grip so that it can accept any 1911 grip, and there are tons and tons of those out there. I did this to mine and now I wouldn't trade it for anything. :)

The Mark III can change the grip more easily, there are a fair number of aftermarket grips available as well.

Those are the only differences.
