It seems to increasingly difficult to get barrels fron the US due to ITAR regulations.

It is still possible, however, paperwork requirments seem to be cost prohibitive.

Do any of you have recommendations/experience with Canadain Barrel markers? If so, have you had good results?

Any other recommendations on barrles from the US?

Ted Gaillard, Mick Mcphee are excellent canadian bbl makers.

Obtunded, and Mystic Player both import a wide range of US bbls for very competitive prices.

I am shooting a Rock Creek 5R barrel that I am very pleased with. Curious what the current options are regarding polygon barrels in 6mm. I too would like to avoid US, if possible.

True-Flight produce 6mm barrels with polygonal rifling if that floats your boat.

Are any of the mentioned markers on par with Pac-Nor?

I can offer match barrels from Shilen and McGowen either as a blank or prefit for savage/Stevens.

I can also offer product for TC's/Encores, 10/22, AND.....

Soon to be available, prefit barrels in select chamberings for REM 700's using a barrel nut to set headspace. Give you similar flexibility to change barrels just like a Savage owner.

That's a great idea! Makes it possible to rebarrel a Remington without a lathe or reamer.

They will be Bergara. Should be a great opportunity for Rem shooters especially high volume shooters like varminters or others that go through barrels pretty fast.

With a lapped lug action, could work very well. I haven't seen any sets yet but they will come with a nut and wrench.

If any Rem shooter wants to be a beta tester, I will be happy to give them a discounted price to get some product in use. Max 3 users.

That was about time....
Are you going to stop to Rem,
or are you planning to supply this system for other rifles as well??

The irony is that it needed a SPANISH barrel maker to bring this product to market. I know there have been a few smiths who have made barrel nuts for Rems on a very limited basis but why it didn't go big time given the huge response with the Savage, who knows.

As to working with other actions, it is really up to those with manf. production capabilities. We will not see similar products for rifles that have the big fixed extractors ala Mauser, Ruger, Win Pre64 as there would be no way to headspace a barrel with a nut and line up an extractor slot.

However, for your typical push feed actions - Howa, Tikka/SAKO, Wby, Browning - should be possible.

The new Marlin XR7 (?) already has jumped on the barrel nut design and likely there will be barrels for this platform in time. As a div of Rem, this might trickle 'up' to the Rem's of the future. Certainly makes a lot of sense from a cost of production stand point.

I would love to see how Rem has designed the quick barrel change on their new military sniper platform. Maybe the barrel nut has already arrived for the Rem??????? Love to see some close up pics of the action/barrel without that rail.
