22lr ruger Gataling gun

Hey guys the other day i was on a website that was advertising a mod (you supply two rugger 10/22) that will turn it into a hand cranked gataling gun. They use there own brand of hotlip magazines, you turn the crank as fast as you can and boom. Said it was non restricted as long as you didnt attach some powered thing that would rotate the wheel.

Anyone else heard of this/ have it ? if so what do you think

Unfortunately, this is prohibited in Canada. Even antique manually operated machine guns such as Gatlings, Nordenfeldts, or Gardners are prohibited here.

Been talked about here before. The hand crank makes your trigger "assisted" and therefore is prohibited.

haven't done a search, but how about a single trigger that fires 2 or more barrels at once? no crank per se.

You should look up the legal definition in the Firearms Act.

(I believe it says something to the effect of one depression, one round.)

Add to that the notion that if there isn't a trigger, you're good to go (if the crank is the sole actuator of the firing mechanism)...

Which then makes the device a gatling gun which makes it prohibited again. No matter how you sidestep it you're either falling under a firearm provision or providing mechanical assistance to simulate automatic fire. The only way you're going to get faster rate of fire is to have a fast trigger finger and a very light trigger. It's the same reason why devices such as the Hellstorm cannot be imported and used on your firearm to simulate full auto. Prohibited.

What if you build it so that instead of depressing the trigger, for full auto fire you push it forward? Now it only fires one shot with a single depression of the trigger.

While I can't find anything in the Firearms Act, I am sure the RCMP would define it again as an assisted trigger device. If the firearm goes "bang bang bang" instead of "bang" when it's actuated no matter how, I can't see it being legal.

I hate Canadian Firearms Law. If you hook a string or some sort of "robot finger" to a trigger to test out a gun that might not be safe while you stand behind a wall, technically it would be an assisted trigger device.

What would be COOL is a hybrid trigger.....most rifles shoot when you pull the trigger....one of my trap guns has a "release trigger" (shoots when you let go)
