Has anyone ordered these yet?

The price seems too good to be true, but possibly only when compared to the outrageous SAN pricing where you are likely paying for the high unobtanium content.

It will be very interesting to see how reliable they are.


If they pan out, I can see several 10 count boxes of mags in my future for the gun room storage racks.

I read another rather unfortunate alternate thread on this.

To whomever it may concern, I have no interest in someone casting dirt based on superstitions. I am looking for real feedback from people who own them, have run them, and most appropriately have a pictorial review of them.

If you're just looking to sling dirt based on phantoms and shadows, feel free to start your own.


But don't go f**king about with my thread.

They will be of excellent quality, I am sure of that.

The folks at Canada Ammo have an EXCELLENT reputation.

The fact that they are made in china means nothing.

Anyone who pulls the "made in china is crap" line really should research what they are saying first.

China has a fantastic reputation for quality tooling. Their advantage..labor rates only. I have personally issued orders to China for more than 1,000,000 in tools over the last 5-7 years.

The media likes to tell us that "Made in China" means "poor quality". This is totally untrue. If you examine most of the recent "recalls" (toys were a big one recently) you'll see that more than 90% were for issues that had to do with POOR DESIGN, POOR SPECIFICATION (originating from designers in North America) and NOT poor manufacturing

CanAM, can you tell us a bit about the development of these mags and the testing processes prior to bringing them to market?

Thanks again for bringing another new product to Canada btw.
 
We made several versions as the tooling was changed. We tested each version with end users around the world, both semi and full auto. Also, as you can see we used 3 different materials were used.

Frankly, it isn't rocket science, but we wanted reliability and durability. I believe we achieved both. But, in the end the design is SIG's, not ours. We just made sure ours was up to snuff.

Another isue we have is if these were molded in the US/Canada we have to go through the cumbersome export procedures to send them to Europe and South America, where are big customers are. By molding them in China (and possibly in Taiwan for the next run) We can simply ship them without the hassle, and lower freight rates to boot.

But, in the end these are just mags. I haven't put a man on the moon.

I read your advertisement page, but would be happy to hear more about the material choices for each, and why you landed on them.

IE - what does each option provide?



Dark Tan Transparent Polycarbonate looks like closest to original...
 
PC was the first choice, as it is the original. Nylon I ran mainly because I wanted to test it, given it is fairly low cost. I also wanted to work with the newer long strand stuff as a basis for our next 2 projects. Radel was chosen after consulting with MSAR regarding material choices for their STG-556 mags. (They now use Ultrason, a slightly cheaper PPSU) It is very tough and resistant to solvents, which PC is not. The downside is very high cost, almost 10 times that of nylon. But we managed to buy a large lot from a plant closure in the US at about 1/3 new price.

Yes, they are basically hand built. Assuming they don't ban all guns and send us to re-education camps this fall, we have a few nice alternatives early next year. But Swiss is Swiss. Ever buy a Toblerone?

Care to share some more info on that? Or is it still TS so the RCMP don't just classify them prohib?
 
This time bring them in 3-4 different shipments into a few different ports of entry. Hopefully that will make it harder for the CBSA to detain shipments indefinately without reason.
