Ran into my first obstacle

Hello,

I bought a 7" KAC RAS carbine rail a while back. Yesterday, I finally brought my SDI XR-15 (11.5" bbl) home. Damn rail doesn't fit!!! The barrel is too fat. I want to keep the front post, and most importantly, leave the gas system the way it is. What other quad rails are out there that WILL fit? Please help!

Yes it is a heavy barrel. It's huge... like a broomstick. Neither rail comes close.

I don't think the RAS were made to fit the heavy profile barrels. IIRC, what you'll need is an RIS (which can acccommodate thicker barrel diameters)...

The RAS won't work. You may need to shave a few hardpoints down or try a free-floating option.
