Magpul BAD finally being released

This is probably a silly question, but could the use of a B.A.D. while clearing a jam result in D.Q. in 3-gun match since your finger is in the trigger guard while not engaging a target?

Yeah they're pretty anal about things like that.

I have HEARD stories of guys using HK USP pistols getting DQ-ed because the release is under the trigger guard, and the best way to release the mag is with your middle or pointer finger of your firing hand side (or your weak hand side, but that takes up time in mag changes). If the guy thinks he sees your finger in the trigger guard he'll blow a gasket :X

thats why shooting with trustworthy friends is so much better... no range nazi's to worry about.

no that's why you explain to an RO before you start that you have controls that are near the trigger and may give the impression of finger in the trigger guard, or on the trigger, when in fact you are doing something else. then the RO won't DQ you.

the bad™ enables manipulation of the bolt
catch using the right-hand trigger finger without moving the shooter’s hand away from fire control/ready position.

Thanks, yes I read that part, but why don't people like using their left hand? I have never found using your left hand slow or dangerous?

THe IA will be faster.

but I don't see too much improvement in speed during reloading - I will stay away from it myself just not to screw up my manual of arms.

From the Magpul video where they pump this idea is, you can clear a magazine jam/double feed by using your left hand to pull the charging handle (right hand still on pistol grip ready to fire) 3/4 times and on the last pull you push on the BAD with your trigger finger and that will lock the bolt back.

Then you bring a spare mag up into the magwell with your left hand and instantly realease the bolt catch by pressing on the BAD with your trigger finger and your ready to fire again.

I have lived that experience. Slavex was there with me when it happened. I'm guessing this wouldn't be good for you in IPSC Rifle.

I have a clone - works great. Fantastic time saver, especially with some malfunction drills, and obviates the hand dance when clearing the rifle.

'Same here... I'm not one for gadgets and do-hickies on my gunz, but this little thing-a-ma-jig is great... I have one on each of my two AR's.

As for getting caught and DQ'd with your finger inside the trigger guard.. The unit I use... which is the same as acrashb's can be manipulated without sticking yer finger inside the guard...
